My desire to look up at the stars and figure out constellations vs my hatred of being outside at night due to an irrational fear of shadow monsters or some sh*t: fight
#I want to go look at the moon tonight so badly it’s so big#but as soon as night falls I’m like nah the field is haunted#I love the idea of constellation watching but I hate the idea of being surrounded by nothing but the darkness of wide open fields and trees#star gazing#constellations#fear#I love stargazing in theory#in practice I can point out two constellations because being outside for any undue amount of time#longer than a millisecond irrationally freaks me out#unless with a bunch of people but even then I find myself glancing toward the backyard with caution or rushing to get in#it may be a bit of a rural thing#nyctophobia#teraphobia#spelled that wrong the first time whoops
