so uhhhh about those lost mianite s1 nether and end temples.
for those who don't know, check my previous reblog for context about what this is and why it's important. anyways, in late 2024 after getting into mianite the series a decade late i revived the search for the full s1 world download, since the official upload's nether and end dimensions are corrupted.
since then, myself and a few other fans of the series (who have been here basically since the beginning, i am VERY new to this party LOL) have been searching across the internet for anyone who may have the full uncorrupted world file in our free time. we've contacted the original server admins, the team that built the temples, and even an artist who used the end temple file in a 3d animation, all to no avail
declan, one of the mianite series' lead admins and BTS crew members, said that if he still somehow had a copy of the world somewhere, it'd be on his old hard drive that he didn't have access to anymore. so, the search went cold.
until february of this year, when fern found a discord message from mrmadspy (another mianite admin and BTS member) with a screenshot of the missing s1 nether temple from 2019.
so we messaged him and as it turns out, he has the full uncorrupted mianite s1 world file on his computer
so basically we finally found it after 12 years. it still exists and it's within reach
the reason that we don't have it is because mms said the file was not his to give to us, which is fair, he needed to have permission from dec to do that. so we messaged dec about it, multiple times

[cut to the cube bouncing towards a cave]
Bdubs: "Nooooo, nooooo, NOOOOOO! He's goin' in a CAAAAVE! Save him! Oh, he's a goner."

I think out of the FedxB responses I've heard the other Hermits give, Joe Hills and Skizz have my favorites. All the Hermits express gratitude for xB's continued and unprompted desire to help them and will thank him with full sincerity; but Skizz has felt so guilty about xB needing to save his ass so many times he keeps trying to repay xB or give him things in return only for xB to either run away before Skizz can give him anything or he asks for something stupid like a gold ingot or a stick in exchange for a loaded shulker of netherite. Joe Hills has the other best reaction which is genuine fear and piss your pants terror where xB dropped things off to him but did it in such a way it mimicked a predator animal stalking its prey and right when the prey thinks it's about to die, the predator instead opens it's mouth to drop food at the prey's feet - high key giving that one diver who got fed penguins by a leopard seal lol. That's how Joe Hills felt when xB gave him a beacon and also copper grates and Joe was whimpering and saying "xB is consistently the scariest Hermit on Hermitcraft by far."
