u know what my biggest pet peeve is? when someone is like genuinely very mean to others and when they’re called out on their behavior they’re like “sorry i’m just a bitch xoxo” like yes u sure are!!!!! not something u should be proud of

This is the literal best writing advice I have ever read. Period.

Special note: “Kill someone” means kill someone in the story. Please do not kill random real life passers by every time you hit a block. My lawyer says misunderstanding writing advice is not an acceptable defense. See you all in 25 to 50 years.

this mentality is really awful and I hate how often I see it from people in fandom who aren’t long out of their teen years themselves. let young people have stories that give them representation with some level of agency ffs, it’s bad enough they’re silenced and sidelined so much in real life without Adults™ ripping into the relatively small fraction of popular media that lets them see people like themselves being heroes.

None of those pieces of media are portraying children being in serious danger as a good thing! That’s the point! It’s supposed to be shocking! Who has that screencap of the tweet about “YES, IT’S SUPPOSED TO BE PROBLEMATIC”?

I don’t think any of these posts are criticizing the writing or the realism or calling it bad! I think it’s just an observation on how our perspective on these characters changes as we grow up. It’s not a bad thing, it’s just a thing. 

As someone who works in IT, nothing has ever been a bigger mood than this.
