jude st francis but i genuinely start referring to him as jude stein because his name holds so much misery and pain and its symbolically where his trauma all started so i have to create a completely different AU where he's harold and julia's adopted son and he never ever stepped foot into any monastery or motel
will byers is so relatable when your life is a series of misfortunes and bad luck and also youโre mentally ill
okok so, im stuck on this scene (after watching it frame by frame basically) and i couldn't help but notice naim's mum (of course). especially with the way she acts around naim.
the almost guilt.
especially this scene, when naim is taken into the house with the deliverance healer;
she looks down, frowning. she looks upset, visibly uncomfortable, listening to her sons screams.
hes begging for her to listen, to not let them do this to him. because he knows what will happen if the ritual takes place. (+the car door is open, so naims shouts are very clear)
neither of them speak about this moment afterwards, not properly. naim tries to explain that he keeps seeing things, something that looks like ryan. he tells her hes getting hurt, and she dismisses him. in the end, blaming naims sexuality, and telling him that they need fear.
but im mostly still stuck on this specific scene. its only a few seconds long. but after we see naim struggling out of the two mens grips, we focus on naims mum. she pauses, looks down, and frowns.
is she thinking about what happened to hunter? or what happened to ryan and hunter and their own ritual? she saw it too, and was very uncomfortable afterwards (the car was silent, and she turned the radio on because the silence between her and naim was so loud and uncomfortable).
did she begin to feel guilty because of how distressed naim was? (hed also just been through a very traumatic experience, seeing hunter's death)
she knew what she was doing, if only partially. she didnt know the entity would try to kill naim (or did she even know there was an entity at all), but she knew this would do harm to him.
did she help naim off the floor after the men left? did she offer to make dinner, or to run him a bath? or did she leave him on the floor, and tell him to go take a nap because hes probably tired after convulsing on the floor in pain
we never really know why she did was she did (and she barely acknowledged the whole situation at the end of the movie. she was even slightly surprised naim wasnt in the car at the end of it all). I know she cared a little, but not enough. and it resulted in her hurting her own son
MY BABY โค๏ธโค๏ธโค๏ธโค๏ธโค๏ธโค๏ธโค๏ธโค๏ธโค๏ธโค๏ธโค๏ธโค๏ธโค๏ธ he is a micro organism. A bug. he is made up of exactly one atom
