I’m going off about another incredible movie and this time it’s The Iron Giant because it’s literally just,,, so good,,,,, It has all you could ever ask for in a movie. Incredible animation? Check. A main character who’s a child and is realistically portrayed as such but is still relatable?? Check. A hardworking single mom?? A struggling artist?? Robots???? The fact that it’s hilarious?? Like Hogarth’s prayer?? Hogarth, Dean, and the Giant’s trip to the lake?? Unparalleled comedy. Deep themes that are never undercut by the genuinely funny moments?? The subtle critique of war and the loss, paranoia, fear, and separation it creates?? The underlying message of accepting those who are foreign to you and judging them not based on what people say they are or what people expect them to be but instead on who they actually are and who they grow to become??? Those legitimately tear jerking scenes?? “Souls don’t die”?? “You are who you choose to be” ??? “Superman” ???? That movie is a goddamn masterpiece and you can’t change my mind
