Hi guys! I'd really like input and advice on something...
I’m seriously considering getting top surgery in the next couple of years (I’m FAAB and agender) and probably taking T as well.
If there’s anyone who wouldn’t mind talking to me about either or both or these subjects with me PLEASE message me! I want to discuss it with people who’ve gone through it and this is the main way to.
I don’t have an ask box for some strange reason but if you want to talk you can message me below and I’ll send you an ask <3
Any takers?
Youtube
A friend of mine is making a youtube channel called OurLifeAsTrans. 7 guys are going to be part of this (me being one) and each day of the week a different guy will be talking about the topic of the week. The channel will be up on Monday December 3rd. Come check it out!! I’ll post a link as soon as I can. I will be making a video and uploading it Saturday December 8th.
Them: I don't think kids should be exposed to gay relationships.
You: Why not?
Them: It's introducing children to sexuality! They're too young for that!
You: So when a prince and princess kiss in a Disney movie, are they introduced to sexuality? When the prince and the princess get married and have a child, is that introducing your child to sexuality?
Them: NO! But if they see a man and a man, or a woman and a woman together... they're going to start asking questions! Like how a man and a man can... you know, do anything together.
You: You think the only thing people think when they see a gay couple is "I wonder how they have sex"? Furthermore, you think a CHILD is going to even know what that means? When the prince and the princess kiss, does your 4 year old daughter ask, "mommy, how do people have intercourse"? No. She just sees two people in love. If you remember when you were a kid, you probably didn't think about sex every time you saw two people happy together.
Them: But it'll bring up all kinds of questions, it'll confuse my child!
You: Then be a fucking parent and explain it to your child. The only question that might be brought up is "mom, why don't you want gay people to be happy?". And when you don't have a good answer for that question, you can look your child in the eye and say "It's because I'm a bigot".
I made a coming out comic for facebook. Have a happy coming out day, and may the odds be ever in your favor.

Paranorman reveals first openly gay animated character
Because exposure to children will NOT ruin them. It will only make them more open-minded, accepting, and mature adults.
CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS: Transcendence: A Positive Trans*, Non-Binary, and Genderqueer Fiction/Art Zine
Edited by Marilyn Roxie and Jacob Milnestein
Release Date: 1st Quarter/2nd Quarter 2013
As achievements in increased awareness of the spectrum of gender identities continue to be made, there is also a growing need for positive representation of trans*, non-binary, and genderqueer people in fiction and artwork; stories and images that can uplift and inspire those in the community, and enlighten our allies. The purpose of the Transcendence zine is to showcase the diversity of our identities and the varied ways in which we celebrate ourselves. We are currently seeking fiction and art submissions.
The zine will be also serve as an effort to generate interest for the anthology on the same topic we plan to release later on in 2013 - any submissions to the zine may be considered for the later anthology. The anthology, unlike the zine (which will be freely available online) will have a cost with all proceeds donated to a charity that works with the trans* community.
Fiction Guidelines: Short stories - 4,000 to 8,000 word length. All genres welcome - seeking magic realism and speculative fiction in particular. Science fiction, historical, fantasy, straight lit are all acceptable, although perhaps it might be easier to steer away from direct horror due to the positive nature of the anthology. Please feel free to contradict this if you desire, whether it is through the the most breathtaking and life-affirming ‘Final Girl’ scenario within the context of a tale that deals with affirmation regarding gender, or another subversive approach.
Art Guidelines: Art of uplifting nature (define positivity as you see fit) concerning trans*, non-binary, and/or genderqueer identity. The theme is entirely up to you. Art may be submitted along with or entirely independent of fiction piece.
Fiction submissions: Submit your fiction work according to guidelines with a short bio and, if available, link to your website / online portfolio to [email protected] as a .doc or .rtf attachment. with the subject TRANSCENDENCE ZINE SUBMISSION. Please include your author name and title of the piece. Content of text files should be presented in 12 point Times New Roman with 1 inch margins
Art submissions: Submit your artwork according to guidelines with a short bio and, if available, link to your website / online portfolio to [email protected] as a .jpg or .png attachment with the subject TRANSCENDENCE ZINE SUBMISSION. Please include your artist name and title of the piece, as well as any notes on medium or background information you may wish to include.
The deadline to submit is January 20th, 2013. Authors and editors will not receive monetary compensation for their zine contribution - this will be a free release.
Queries about the anthology can be directed to [email protected] or tweeted to us @GenderqueerID on Twitter.
ABOUT THE EDITORS: Marilyn Roxie blogs at Genderqueer Identities (http://genderqueerid.com/) and is a library tech and webmaster for the Center for Sex and Culture (http://sexandculture.org/) in San Francisco. Jacob Milnestein writes stories. Like most people, he has a website.
so this is a thing
a bunch of moms are making letters+audio recordings of affirming, validating letters to queer/trans* people who don’t get that kind of support from their moms
i would say more about it but
im kind of busy in this puddle of tears on the floor so
I kind of needed this

What is everybody's big, bad "Gay Agenda"?
Tonight, mine was making grilled cheese sandwiches for me and my girlfriend. It was fun.
Tomorrow, grocery shopping.
In two years, I'll be graduated, holding down a steady job.
Let us know over at Redefining Human.
Success!
The LGBTQ Panel, the second part of this project, went off without a hitch.
10 LGBTQ-identifying students from this university came together to tell their stories. We had a wide diversity. Latino to Black to Muslim to Native American and, of course, the wide diversity of backgrounds that we lump together into 'White.' We had die-hard Christians, half/personalized Christians, agnostics, atheists, and Wiccans. We had gay men, lesbians, bisexuals, pansexuals, and asexuals. We had every experience from being beaten by his own brothers and mother, to those who can't come out at all, to one with a lesbian mother who is totally open to everything and everyone.
I wish we had a transperson, but I couldn't find any on campus, let alone a willing one. It made me sad because I feel that we missed out on an important story there.
Looking back, I wish we had more 'personalized' questions, or specific questions directed at one person about their experiences, but I am still happy with the questions that were asked.
I hope that the Gay Straight Alliance will be able to do more of these panels in the future. I think it is very important.
Though the panel is over with, this blog will continue. Stories will still be accepted, I will still post prompts or suggestions of things to post, we will still be a community here. You can still direct people to this site as a resource. I can give advice or direct you to the right resource. We can help each other.
Most importantly, we will be here as a lasting testament that LGBTQ people are human, too.
