"I don't understand why Bentley assigned us to rig this satellite...!" Carmelita muttered to herself.
That she questioned while trying to position that satellite dish on the roof of the Medieval Scotland hideout. It was a moonlit night, and it was clear she was getting frustrated. But something was...off about Carmelita's anger that night. Sly could hear it in the tone of her voice.
"Maybe he believed we're the only ones tall enough to reach the roof?" the raccoon questioned.
Her attention quickly turned away from her work in a heartbeat.
"Not another wo-!" the vixen tried to curtly lecture.
The fox released a breath once she stopped short. It became clear that since Annette knew more about her mother's cold case than she let on, Carmelita had little to no energy to get angry and stay that way.
"Sly," she began. "Did you truly retire back then? Were all those excuses to leave formal events really did come from trying to relax? Or were you actually planning to go back into thievery?"
There was a brief moment of silence between them.
The raccoon released an uneasy breath.
"I hung up my mask and cane for real back then," Sly admitted. "Keeping the old itch in check wasn't easy, but I told myself it was all for you. How I chose to commit a life to you wasn't the best choice I made, but it was the first thing I thought of."
"I knew there was a reason you were meditating," Carmelita noted with a mix of surprise and realization.
"All right, I've come clean to you. Now, it's my turn," the raccoon began. "Were you seriously considering tying the knot? Did you truly want to marry me, but your fears kept you from doing so? Or was that just a casual comment?"
Carmelita's eyes widened with surprise when he asked that question and pressed the matter. It felt like there were some tricks he learned from his time as "Constable Cooper."
"You actually heard that comment?!"
"I did. It was the whole reason why I chose to come clean in the end. I was trying to figure out what to say, but then Bentley showed up. I didn't want to be a thief again at first. I told him my retirement was the real deal. Then, he showed me the whole scary picture."
"Which lead up to your note and me catching you at the museum...Ay, Dios mΓo..."
While Henriette's the captain of her crew, Bentley's more of a calculated strategist. So, when they go after a fleet of ships under Rackham's command, Bentley's first command goes something like this.
"We're closing in on one of the Red Flag Fleet...beat to quarters!" the turtle instructed.
"Next time, leave that command to me," an annoyed Henriette reminded him.
As time goes on and preparations to get everything back on track start reaching a critical point, Henriette has some doubts about her capabilities as a captain to her crew. Sly, Bentley, and Murray learn the story about how she met her crew and lost her eye during the mutiny. Murray explicitly says to consider her injury a badge of honor, with Sly and Bentley being in agreement.
This also gets Carmelita to start overcoming her insecurities about her surgery scars.
Once they set sail for the battle at sea against Rackham Le Paradox and his crew, Henriette hands leading the charge for "Operation: Sea Shanty" to the three main members of the Cooper Gang. They've earned the right to do so. She even has Sly signal "beat to quarters" in her place.
So, once Nathan spots Rachkam's ship, the Golden Skiff, in the distance, drum beats sound off on deck. It's a signal to batten down the hatches and clear the deck.
"Battle stations! We're headed into action!" Sly rallied everyone on board.
"It's gonna be tight sailing in here, Sly!" Murray warned. "Keep an eye on the rocks!"

Because Henriette "One Eyed" Cooper grew up during the Golden Age of Piracy, she had to deal with the fact that women are generally banned from ships. So, she disguised herself as a man before assembling her crew. The first person to see Henriette for the leader she is underneath was her First mate, Nathan.
A Maine coon cat, Nathan met Henriette onboard a warship. They ultimately decided to form their own pirate crew when they saw those onboard grew disconcerted. The Spanish Empire failed to deliver a letter of marque to the vessel's owners. Having learned this as well as the crew getting tired of not being paid by their employers, they convinced those onboard the ship to mutiny. They rename the vessel the Sea Phantom once they're successful.
This is why her crew is genuinely loyal to Henriette despite their quirks.
It's also why Nathan is almost never seen without his spyglass on his persons. That item proved vital during the early stages of their friendship.
It's been a long while since the Cooper Gang all turned themselves in to the authorities. I'm now officially Carmelita's ward, living with her in a bigger apartment than where she lived before. Ever since our adventure, Carmelita and I have been gradually growing closer day by day. While she still covers up, Carmelita's no longer ashamed of her surgery scars. She's considering leaving Interpol to become a private investigator. Nothing's truly decided yet.
Word is, Le Paradox ended up in Belarus. I guess following the resolution of Maman's cold case, the judge and jury decided solitary confinement wasn't punishment enough. He's now on Death Row. Just a few more days, and I can put that part of my past behind me.
Penelope's therapy sessions have been going well. Her brainwashing has mostly been undone and she's been sending e-mails to me so that we can forge a friendship. I only hope that we can get to see each other in person. The good news is, a connection has been rebooted by Bentley and Penelope. After Bentley's release from prison, they're going to build a new laboratory.
Following Murray's release from prison, he learned from Dimitri that an ally of the Cooper Gang wants him to come to China. A relative of a Cooper Gang member had sadly died. Murray wants to be there for him and his family during his funeral. I only hope one day I get to meet them.
I haven't heard much from Sly since his arrest. We kept in touch through prison letters, but after a while, he was released on good behavior. My adventures were fun, but I haven't seen a need to pick up my old gear again.
I think it's better this way.

Henriette discovered and claimed the goblet of Sinbad during her travels. She may not have found El Dorado, but she claims the greatest treasure she ever found was her incredible crew.
Former Vice Admiral Kirima was located and executed by lethal injection from his old military.
Slaigh went on to forge his own legacy in theΒ "Thievius Raccoonus," becoming the strongest Cooper to ever break a lock with his cane.
Finlay was tried and jailed for trying to smuggle armaments to a foreign country following his return to the present day.
Otto van Cooper went on to become the most brilliant inventor in Cooper history. He was succeeded by one child.
Armin was sent to a high-security prison where he attempted to escape, but failed due to their anti-air measures.
Conner's story began coming to an end when his son was just a kid, balancing on his father's knee...
Dimitri continued his work on "Disco Diver" before he ended the series with five seasons. He's now establishing himself as a treasure hunter like his grandfather was before him.
As gratitude for her efforts in saving the timeline, Andrea, my Maman, became its guardian. She currently watches over me and all of us.

While trying to track down her lost daughter, Andrea Leparine ended up in a void of azure. However, when the older lop rabbit looked around, she could tell something was very wrong.
There were hints of an acid green color within this area. To her, it felt like that envious green was trying to taint that pure blue color. She briefly wondered where she was before spotting something in the distance.
Or rather someone.
Approaching him got her to see that he was a Torch Kit raccoon dressed appropriately for a Western movie. But something told Andrea that his clothing was the real deal, not part of a movie set. So, she approached him with some caution.
"Um...hello," she nervously said to him.
That got the raccoon's attention, and he tipped his hat to see and address her.
"Howdy, li'l lady," the raccoon replied with a western twang to his voice. "Looks like y'all got bucked off here, too."
"You are not the only one," a Crab-eating raccoon's voice distinctly Arabian in origin spoke up.
Sure enough, other raccoons of varying breeds carrying a hooked cane or something similar to it approached them both. Andrea was surprised at how diverse everyone was.
"Do you all know each other?" the lop rabbit asked from confusion.
"We are thieves who have valiantly served the Cooper name!" a Common European raccoon in knight's armor revealed. "Alas and alack, it seems we are trapped in this abyss..."
"Please let me explain," the Japanese raccoon dog clad in blue ninjutsu garb requested cordially.
According to Sly's ancestors, history should have dictated that Cyrille Le Paradox was in an odor-proof solitary confinement cell for life. Someone had jumped back in time and found him before that could happen. Now Le Paradox had rebuilt his time machine, and he's aiding his own ancestors with modern technology in the hopes of eliminating the Cooper Clan's historical prominence.
"No...Le Paradox, if he wins in the end, my own daughter...my blessing would be-!" Andrea noted, panicking at the thought of losing her for good.
Caveman Cooper, a Chapalmalania, couldn't help but emphasize with the woman's fears.
"We humbly request this from you," Sir Galleth began. "Return to the living world as a spirit and ensure Sly Cooper returns to the present day."
"The raccoon I helped earlier?" Andrea questioned. "He's a thief like you all! How can I even-?"
"He is in Ancient Egypt," Rioichi revealed. "As is your beloved daughter."
Andrea's eyes went wide at the information drop.
"I think if they meet each other, maybe they can work together?" Caveman Cooper suggested.
It was a simple thought, but one that could work in the long run.
"A sound strategy," Salim stated. "From what I have come to learn, your daughter has been found by Slytunkhamen II. He is ensuring her safety and teaching her archery."
"Why would I want her to meet someone whose criminal lifestyle led to my dea-!?" Andrea began out of growing concern and anger.
"What do y'all want for your li'l girl? An unhappy endin'?!" Tennessee questioned pointedly.
That stopped her in her tracks.
"I understand your apprehension," Salim began. "I'm sure the rest of us do as well. But the winds blow unlike what the ships account for. Having them meet and join forces may be the only path they can take for both of them going forward."
Andrea released a breath.
"Since you're taking my daughter's future into consideration, I'll do it," Andrea stated. "I'll make sure both of them return to the present day safe."
Tennessee let out a sigh of relief. He'd thought she'd be more stubborn than a mule being pulled by both reins.
"You are doing the right thing," Rioichi complied with confidence.
Caveman Cooper nodded "yes" out of agreement.
"I shall ensure you are sent to the era in time they are in right now," Salim stated.
"Go forth, Lady Andrea!" Galleth bade. "Ensure a happy ending for these wayward souls!"

Summary:
There had to be another path for both of his Eevee to walk on.
Some time before Sly and his companions arrived during Conner's heyday as a thief, a lovely Eurasian red squirrel shot cupid's arrows toward the hearts of him and his semi-unknown rival.
The squirrel, Noelle Martin, questioned why those unjust thieves had to fall specifically for her in her dressing room. Donning a seductive black dress with white tights and black-heeled shoes, she knew they would be watching tonight.
She had to warn both of them that she wasn't going to be swept off her feet so easily.
When the opening guitar riff began to play, the audience cheered when Noelle made her appearance on stage. Conner and his Gang were also watching with McSweeney noting her more...alluring style of dress for the performance. Anton Le Paradox, Cyrille's future father, was also watching from a distance.
Noelle walked toward the gold-painted steps and made her way down. It was time to raise that red flag.

During his travels through time, the raccoon got run through the wringer emotionally. Over time, his perspective on love is reinforced and broadened.
Bentley Wiseturtle: While the smartest of the Gang, Bentley starts leaning into his capability for emotional intelligence. He worked to ground Sly to reality upon contacting him and ended up being the one to save Penelope in the end. That being said, his loyalty to others remains intact.
Murray Austin: Although his development is more subtle than others, Murray remains the emotional glue between the six of them. His time in the wrestling circuit and recalling the teachings of The Guru has showcased his uncanny ability to adapt to different situations.
Carmelita Fox: After getting dragged into the Cooper Gang's time-traveling adventures, Carmelita discovered she has kitsune abilities thanks to her mother's side of the family. She grows to care about Sly and his companions while her adventures go on. It gets to the point where she recalls that she joined Interpol to find closure for victims of crime.
Annette Leparine (OC): The youngest of the six of them and an archer with wind abilities. As this lop rabbit breaks down the walls she erected around herself, she comes to reveal her compassion and resourcefulness during her adventures. Her ultimate wish is to find closure regarding her deceased mother.
Penelope van Muis: During her time as the partially brainwashed assistant of Le Paradox, Penelope tried to rattle the chains of the Cooper Gang's bond. Annette's belief that a huge misunderstanding occurred between her and Bentley forged cracks in her psyche. Following the mouse's rescue from both Kirima and her brainwashing, she's taken to a psychologist. However, she works behind the scenes to help everyone from the present day.
Annette rejected his sweet, sweet love for her. Apparently, making sure she was saved from that deer's acts of love spooked her.
Beware, beware, be skeptical
Of their smiles, their smiles, so plated gold
Deceit, so natural
And Sly would continue to remain an obstacle in his pursuit to save Annette from the raccoon's care and loyalty.

Alvard's plans for the world involved saving children from the "terrors" of reality. While he seemed to have good intentions given the dangers of the Victorian era, he would make sure no adults who genuinely loved their children would taint the sweet, sweet innocence of minors like Annette.
