A long awaited (updated!) ode to the Cubaris "Panda King," the first species of isopod I decided to keep and that got the ball rolling on twelve other colonies I now tend to! They're such sweet little critters. I have a small batch up on my website.

Admittedly, the episode goes out of its way to justify the reasoning behind it—hell, the title speaks for itself—though I don’t doubt some people out there rejected it on the grounds of being fundamentally flawed. Dimitri joining the gang seemed plausible enough because he didn’t have any deep connection with them aside from the Clockwerk affair. Me personally, I don’t agree or disagree but I wouldn’t put it past the internet that there’s some forum archives lying around that showed posters going back and forth about this criticism."

(My two cents on this is, when the game first came out (albeit, I was 11), I thought this was a very cool plot point because it forced Sly to confront a dark part of his past, while also showing that the villains were capable of change. And it wasn't all hunky dory either, there was a ton of tension between them and the scene of Panda King having to literally convince himself that he should move on and NOT take revenge on Sly blew my 11 year old self away. I still think it works well as a plot point, because it had care put into how it would work.
