You mark my words, and I'm saying it now, COPYCAT will be Carnby Kim's and Youngchan Hwang's best work. I'm beyond thrilled this artist is making more with Carmby Kim. They are phenomenal.
My favorite Carnby Kim work is Pigpen [if you haven't read it, do it NOW here. It's illustrated by ์ฒ๋ฒ์ (Beom Sick Cheon), @bomb_sick on Instagram]. The illustrations are HAUNTING and there's a plot twist in the middle that FLOORED me. There are multiple twists/ reveals that are unexpected but fit beautifully and that's the best part of Carnby Kim's writing.
And I LOVE Sweet Home. Ok, maybe I led, that is his best work. it's definitely Youngchan Hwang's best work. I mean, just look at these panels. The illustrations just drive so much fear into your heart. The characters are flawed but deep. Some are wholesome and some are awful, but they are beautifully human.
Copycat so far has had me on the edge of my seat. Suchan is a now failed artist who realizes that a serial killer named Jahak is staging corpses of the people he's killed that copies exactly an art exhibition Suchan had hosted. In his mind, Jahak plagiarized his work and is even calling himself an artist of human flesh, and has made millions in black market auctions of his "sculptures". When Suchan hears about this, he gets angry that Jahak is getting recognition for HIS work. So, since he thinks Jahak must have been at his exhibit, he thinks he can catch him and starts tracking down leads. However, the real question is, is he doing this to stop a serial murderer, or to get his fame and recognition for his art?

It's an incredibly intriguing concept, and the characters are all flawed humans with deep connections with Kim's writing, so I'm expecting Sweet Home level character building! This manhwa actually reminds me of a lesser known manga called "Museum" by Ryosuke Tomoe, which is also about a serial killer who considers himself an artist. You can read it here, it's only 3 volumes and it's good.

I will keep posting about Copycat because it's really building up to be an amazing psychological thriller but there are only 18 chapters out for free in English on Webtoon right now. But please, if you love psychological thriller, go try it out.

So far, my favorite character is definitely Nanji, the true crime streamer that Suchan reaches out to for help. He's so interesting. He reminds me a lot of L from Death Note. The quote below is from him to Suchan.
"The fact that he's a serial killer doesn't make you angry at all. All your anger is locked on one thing: the fact that he plagiarized you."
