Day 28 of my Donovan March Challenge! – Young Girl Blues (1967)

I hate to put a damper on such a lovely day, but this song highlights what many young women (such as myself) feel on a daily basis. As an introvert, I can certainly understand how a girl like this can get caught alone and lonely in a one room apartment and feel isolated from the world. I can understand “working your way through the phoneys” which I take to mean the men who wish to simply use you. This is especially an epidemic today with apps such as Tinder and social media in general. It’s easier for the players to play, and it’s harder to find something genuine. Depression is running rampant these days, and you can do it! You can beat it! You can make your way through the phoneys.
