For context, I'm not a fan of HH as it is, but I've been trying to rewrite it, so watching criticism videos has become a common past time for me

But so many people are like "Why is Husk calling Angel a loser?? Angel's literally getting s/a'd; that doesn't make him a loser!!" and I understand the concern, but they're not understanding the point of the song

Husk is saying these things initially just to shock Angel out of his spiral, not to knock him down further; he doesn't believe Angel is actually a loser, but he's saying as such to get and keep Angel's attention

And afterwards, it's sort of reclaiming the term to be a source of power for both of them since they're both bound by soul contracts, and they're both in the meant-to-be-shithole that is Hell ("winners" being souls in heaven makes sinners "losers", yk-)

And Husker isn't saying his and Angel's situations are the same; he's saying they're in comparable situations and are suffering because of it but can find solace in each other because they're both trapped in this way

Is this song perfect? Not at all, not by any stretch – its execution allows for these misunderstandings, and the scenes (and show in general) surrounding it don't entirely help
