How it feels to read a really good fic and find the author has dozens more like it

Shen Jiu is a cat, obviously. But this doesn't only apply to his defensive traits. He is also catlike in the way he quietly shows affection, the way he marks people as his. And no matter how he feels about Yue Qingyuan now, the man is *his*. His to despise, his to tuck away into quiet corners of his heart, his to sink his claws into. So he decorates him in the silent trappings of ownership. Whenever Yue Qi visits, Shen Jiu lights an extra stick of incense so the man walks out smelling of the bamboo house. He finds excuses to break and replace decorations around Yue Qi's home with his own. The paintings on the wall? Painted by his brush. The small, carved pair of ducks that sit on one shelf? Purchased in a huff one new year from a vendor who promised they were the perfect gift for lovers (Shen Jiu had told him that he had detected a curse on them and they needed to stay in the presence of Yue Qingyuan's qi for at least a year before it was nullified). The man's very robes? Every rip and seam had been carefully mended with green thread, including the patch sewn right over his heart from when an arrow had once nearly taken his life during a battle. Because of course, what an embarrassment to have to write all of the Peak Lord's wardrobe malfunctions on the budget? No, better to repair them himself. Like a cat, he scents the man, hides gifts around his home, and scratches him as an excuse to lick the wound.

I think one of my favorite aspects of Hua Cheng and Xie Lian's relationship is that neither one of them tries to change the other

I am really enjoying going through the tags on this post. I know a lot of you asked what constitutes "weird", or prefer the term "niche" but I did say "weirdest" for a reason, because that's for you to decide - of all the stuff you do, what do you think would classify as "weirdest"?
