I don’t remember when you introduced yourself to me. I lost you for a while. I was suspicious of you for longer. I was just too young to understand that you were not the force of evil working against me. It’s even taken me time to accept that now. We hear God and we’re like “Oh that guy that started a crazy flood”, right? And maybe you are. And that’s ok. But like, I find myself enamored with the daily pleasures of your love. I can watch the sun set every evening and rise every morning if I so choose (but I prefer to sleep). Waves crash on the beach and weave the shoreline like the longest tapestry in the world. The landscapes I see around me look exactly like the inside of my body, don’t think I wouldn’t notice. Cells are islands populated by purpose, sand swept skin envelopes my forest of bones. The trees crack and become lumber I burn for fuel. I can breathe fire. I can see for miles. Creationism is really just a synonym for art. You have given me the gift of everlasting love and I am so grateful. I am so sensitive. I want to thank you for being so patient with me and with us. We will come around. Or at least I have. Or, I’m getting there. I promise to keep my ears, heart, and mind open. I promise to judge not. I promise to trust differently. I promise to carry out these actions in the most human way possible. I will make mistakes. I may break these promises, but my intentions will remain pure. I have felt your light; I have felt it want to come bursting out of my mouth.
