For anyone who doesn’t know why, this is not only doing some mad generalizing, but they are also LITERALLY doing yellow face, black face, and- well I’m not even sure what the Indian one is supposed to be.

You are taking an under represented body type and throwing it right out the window! Right into a dumpster why not.

Don’t do that. don’t. It’s not “art” it’s not good at all. Why would you want to do that anyways? Unless you are a young artist who is still learning how to draw larger body types you have a 0% good reason to draw a character skinny.

Do you know how normalized being skinny is? almost every other body type other than fat is accepted, but being fat? disgusting, shamed, a joke.

So seeing a fat character portrayed as a beautiful person in media is like a miracle. It’s so rare, that when people draw them skinny, it’s awful!

You are taking this character from people who do have that body type and just turning it into the normalized body type everyone is portrayed as, and it’ genuinely upsetting to people.

But somehow Garnet is supposed to be PoC? Where’s the logic in that, when you compare her to every other gem in the show? And I see that people say it’s because her voice actress is black. By that logic, Jasper, Sapphire, Sugilite, and Sardonyx are all black, Pearl, Lapis, Ruby, Amethyst, Peridot, and Alexandrite are all East/Southeast Asian, and Rose, Opal, and Stevonnie are white.
