We just gotta keep speaking out against this forever. Because they won’t stop

Oh my god these are painful to look at.Â
This is an exception; I actually see how those makeup sets would be offensive.Â
What the fuck… this is shitty as fuck. Omg who sat on the business side of this product and thought “hm, yeah, this is acceptable to sell.”
Jeez this is ridiculous and I would legitimately take it up with the store manager if I saw that. That’s not okay at all.
Yeah this right here is racist.
For anyone who doesn’t know why, this is not only doing some mad generalizing, but they are also LITERALLY doing yellow face, black face, and- well I’m not even sure what the Indian one is supposed to be.
Now if these were costumes like traditional African clothing, kimonos, or actual tribal things, I would not be offended. When you are painting yourself to look like a stereotype, that is some racist shit.
That’s pretty much where I’m at - an outfit is an outfit. Making yourself darker to fit a specific character is fine, cosplayers who paint their skin dark to play Garnet are portraying a specific character - this is not a specific character. This is taking the features of everyone under a specific racial umbrella and generalizing them and boiling them down to stereotypical bullshit.
It’s racist, there isn’t really any way around that. It’s as racist as saying all black/white/asian people look the same - this is the physical interpretation of that mindset.
I have low standards, and even I think this is racist.
It appears this stuff is from the UK, because it’s priced in pounds.
Kind of surprising to see this sort of stuff from a “progressive” Western nation.
