soobin : exes to lovers

volunteering to be a part time teacher where your ex works is never a good idea. sitting on the tiny chairs in the kindergarten, you and soobin watch kids play around. he huffs, "you broke my heart, you know?" and hands you two paper pieces of a heart-shaped origami. joining the two pieces together, you tape them and say, "well, let me join it for you." holding out your hand, you look at him expectantly, waiting to see what he does. he reaches out to clasp your hand, determined to not let you go this time.

beomgyu : enemies to lovers

being pinned against a wall by your enemy (who you secretly like omg) isn't really the best idea, as beomgyu snaps at you for teasing him. "can't you shut up? i think about you enough as it is !" he explodes, his eyes wide when he realizes what he said. "oh my god that was not what i meant." he begins, but you chortle, "haha, you like me don't you?" "shut up" he says, clearly annoyed and pushing him further, you retort with "make me." his mind goes, make me, she said. that's all it takes for beomgyu to press you against the wall, and kiss you like his life depends on it.

taehyun : fake lovers to actual lovers

"god, i'm gonna be so jealous of the guy you go out on a date with" taehyun blurts as your 3-month fake dating contract nears its end, a sudden smile takes over his face as the realization hits him, "oh wait, i'm that guy." mustering up all the courage you could possibly have, "you could be that guy, for real this time, you know? the one who takes me to dates." you offer. the unmissable gleam of his eyes gives away the answer, "oh yeah? i'd like that, very much, y/n darling."

hueningkai : soulmates to lovers

"we belong together, y/n !! when are you going to understand this?" kai asks, agitated to see the marks on your knuckles because he'd punched a wall, and you being his soulmate, the result of his actions directly affect you. tending gently to your wounds, he whispers, "don't push me away, y/n. fighting the inevitable makes it only more difficult." "but what if you're the one i need?" you ask feebly, overwhelmed by the feeling of his hands brushing your knuckles, "then let me be the one for you." he asserts, pressing his lips to the top of your hands.

soobin : the shy nerd, with you being his first love, and books, his second. study sessions with him where he explains things to you, but you're simply lost in his eyes and his monotonous voice. gently snaps his fingers with the bunny-like smile permanently pasted on his face when you're around. strikes up a deal with you to kiss you every time you give a right answer to the question he asks while you two prepare for your test. your back pressed against his chest, as he reads out sentences of novels that describe just what he feels for you. gives you a book, and asks you to find highlighted words and make a sentence out of them; your heart beats out of your chest when the words sum upto form 'will you go to prom with me, my love?' and you throw yourself into his arms, nodding.

beomgyu : the avid gamer who has his eyes on the screen, a console in his hands, and you on his lap. no matter what game or level he’s playing, his free hand will always snake around to your waist, as he asks you about your day and everything that you did. of course, there are some ‘me or the ps5?’ moments, but he always chooses you, quickly muttering an apology and brushing your hair with his fingers. a firm believer that you’re his princess peach and he’s your mario. will greet you in the hallways, classroom and in front of the lockers with the slightest whisper, “hi, my pretty princess peach” that leaves your cheeks as flushed as a strawberry. leads you to a hill which has a signboard while you two are playing minecraft and asks you to flip it, revealing a 'go to prom with your mario?' as he looks at you nervously, chewing on his bottom lip. attacks you with kisses when you press the green button, signaling yes, as the fireworks go off in the game.

taehyun : the soulful musician for whom, lyrics flow like a spring but has difficulty in using words to express his love for you. so instead, he writes songs dedicated to you. everything about you mesmerizes him so much that he could go on penning down lyrics about you for hours. loves it when you two go to karaoke, where he sings all the cheesy romantic songs for you. calls you his muse, because inspiration strikes him only when he's with you. sings to you when you're too stressed to calm you down. will text you to come to the music room asap and when you enter, the entire orchestra launches into a peaceful musical piece; and he begins singing "last night on earth' by green day. two wide smiles on both of your faces once he's done with the first chorus, he begins with, 'y/n, honey, will you-' but he's cut off by you jumping and shouting 'yes!', much to his delight.

hueningkai : the notorious troublemaker who's a menace to everyone except you, the calm to his storm, his one and only anchor. caging you with his body in empty nooks and corners of the school because flustering you is his hobby. late night rides on his motorcycle, your arms wrapped tightly his waist, as if you'd never let him go. loves to tuck in your hair behind your hair, because to him in that moment, you're perfect, his everything. climbs ladders and walls to sneak into your room through your window, soft feet padding through the wooden floor of your room. impresses your parents by actually showing up at your door instead of your window, with a bouquet of your favorite flowers. 'prom, darling?' he asks, your nose scrunching up cutely at the nickname, and your parents yell 'yes' from behind as he pulls you into his arms and pictures of you two get snapped by your folks for 'memories'.

soobin : stargazing while resting your head on his chest, as he tells you about the different constellations in the night sky. picks up things on the higher shelves so that you don't have to be on your tiptoes. tries to weave in flowers into your braid like the aesthetic pictures you see on pinterest, but he fails miserably and you two collapse, giggling uncontrollably. getting drunk on soju to admire his ears that have now turned red, along with the slurred love confessions. a kiss pressed to your temple, with a declaration of his love for you.

beomgyu : songs that remind him of you, and the way you make him feel, stashed in one playlist, for you to listen when he's away. painting your nails with the utmost concentration and care, while you simply marvel at the sight of this beautiful boy in front of you. handing you hair ties when the wind outside makes both, his and your hair blow while you two sit in the car, enjoying each other's presence. carries you to your bed when you fall asleep while waiting up for him, as he gently pecks your cheeks, promising to be there when you woke up.

taehyun : little post its decorating your side of the bed, your work table and the fridge, leaving messages like 'hi baby, thank you for everything' or 'my love, call me once you're free <3'. adds you to his spotify blend just to see if or not your music tastes are similar; will jump over the moon if y'all are over 80% similar. thread in tiny, pretty beads to make matching bracelets for you, and will smile so proudly when you show it off to your friends. will get all sentimental before a scary roller coaster in the amusement park, expressing how you mean everything to him and you laugh over his cuteness, before he quickly smooches your hands as the ride whizzes off.

hueningkai : lies to you about when he's coming home just so that he can see the surprise and delight in your eyes when he comes home earlier than he told you. eating the cookie batter together rather than baking it; sprinkling flour on each other during the process. splashing water on you whenever you run a bath for him, turning the calm bath session into a water fight. indulges you into the eyes staring contest, will gaze into those eyes of yours that hold so much love for him, even if both your eyes start watering and he eventually wipes off your tears and kisses your eyelids.

You head back to your apartment, silently wishing that jay wouldn’t be there. And you swing open the door and see that jay had left. Memories. Your apartment was a place where jay and you made loads of memories. Holding up the little photo frame which had a picture of jay and you snuggling each other, you try to break the glass of the frame. You wanted to throw the frame out of your building, but you couldn’t. Instead you give up, hug the picture tightly and cry. You look over to the kitchen counters, and think about the time you both baked a cake-

“yeobo, if you’re gonna keep sprinkling flour on me, i’m gonna end up looking like a ghost” you whine playfully, as jay chuckles before booping your nose. You giggle, looking around for sugar, when jay suddenly swings open a cupboard and it hurts your head. “ouch oh my gosh, you pabo, what are you doing?!” You cry out as he grabs an ice pack from the fridge to soothe the little bruise that was appearing on your forehead. You wince, and he says, “i’m so sorry, baby, it happened by accident, i had no clue it’d hurt you” you smile at him. He panicked so much, as if he himself had gotten hurt. Suddenly, his eyes light up and presses a chaste kiss to your bruise. You look at him in wonder and he laughs, “ don’t look at me like that, i just kissed your bruise better.” You could’ve sworn your pain subsided after his kiss. “and now you” he speaks in his monotone, but charming voice, “are gonna simply sit and do nothing while i bake the cake.” You open your mouth to protest, but jay cuts you off, lifting you up to set you on the counter, “it’s an absolute no, i can’t risk you getting hurt again.” And he turns into baker jay mode, perfectly using the right ingredients in the cake, while drowning you in kisses and compliments.

Tears stream down your eyes, as you reminisce your memories with jay. Guess it was too good to be true. Heavily weighed down by the events of the day, you cry yourself to sleep. And this pattern of you continued for a week. You eventually crash into your best friend somi’s house because you couldn’t bear yourself to live in the very apartment which was the hub of jay and your happy memories. The same agonizing pain that you had to bear every day, without jay. The same reassurance that you heard from somi, “you’ll find someone better, y/n, he’s not the only guy on this planet.” He may not be that only guy on this planet, but he definitely was the best. No one gave a shot, or even stood a chance, when you compared them to jay.

After two whole weeks of trying to get over jay, somi insists on taking you to a party. “come on, y/n, don’t mope over him. He’s gone, time to move on, bae. I’m sure you’ll find a nice guy at the party” she says nonchalantly, lending you a nice, sparkly outfit of hers, while you huff in annoyance. You didn’t want to go, but after everything somi did for you, you didn’t want to see no either. So, you let somi dress you up, and glam you up to make you look like the perfect party goer. As you glance at yourself in the mirror, you almost can’t believe the sight you’re taking in. And you had to admit, you looked very attractive, and the dress was just right for you. Feeling slightly confident, you head out to the party with your best friend.

When you arrive at the party, the party is in full swing already. Students wildin’ on the dance floor, with beer pongs played and alcoholic drinks passed around. Somi squeals, holding your hand to introduce you to some people. You see people eyeing you and your outfit appreciatively, and for the first time since you and … your mind trails off, and you try to clear your head by ordering a drink at the bar. You spot sunghoon at the party, and blood runs cold. Shit. Enhypen’s here. You urgently text somi, saying that sunghoon was here, and she texts back, saying that maybe only sunghoon is here, because she couldn’t find any other enhypen member. You gulp down a martini, only to find jake standing in front of you. You step back, your hands shaking. You were pretty much scared by enhypen at this point. After everything you went through because of them, all your instincts told you was to turn around and move away from any enhypen member.

But jake calls out your name, thrice, and you turn back to see him looking upset. Hear him out y/n, you feel your subconscious say to you. Jake was the most compassionate and caring members of enhypen, so you felt like he wouldn’t harm you and decide to hear him out. He begins “y/n y/n y/n, i apologize, on the behalf of all the enhypen members. I wish you didn’t have to go through so much pain, you truly don’t deserve it. I warned the members, about betting on people not being a good idea, because in the end, they end up getting hurt, but the members don’t listen. I wish i had talked more sense into them but i couldn’t, so please forgive me.” The look on his face is so earnest, and you’re so touched by his apology, that you reach out to hug him. “it’s okay, jake, it wasn’t your fault anyway, but i appreciate your apology and kind words” you whisper into his ear, as he hugs you back, regret passing through his entire being.

You both pull back, and he smiles, saying “for the record, you look lovely in that dress, y/n, make sure you have fun!” As he heads out to talk to his guy gang. You drink way too many shots, and then when your favorite song ‘drunk dazed’ begins to play, you decide loosen up and dance the night away. Your hair’s practically flying around, and you simple groove to the song with no dance steps, yet you feel like the prettiest woman around.

But all that comes to a halt when you feel a pair of eyes staring at you. It was heeseung. You stride over towards him in confidence, and wrap your arms around his neck. He’s shocked, but he gently places a hand on your back. The music changes, to a slower one, and suddenly you pull heeseung by his collar to kiss him. He kisses back sloppily, messily and somewhere at the back of your mind, you think damn, he’s a really good kisser. Suddenly you and heeseung are pulled apart. You make eye contact with a furious jay and a shocked jake. You hear jay shout at heeseung and sunghoon calm him down. The next thing you know, you black out and you’re on the floor.

Jay quickly picks you up, and carries you in his arms all the way to somi’s house. As he puts you down on the bed, tears cloud vision because he knows that the past two weeks have been agonizingly painful for you, as well as him. He’s just about to leave when you clasp his hand tightly in your sleep. The sight melts him and he can’t bring himself to leave you alone, when you’re so raw and vulnerable. He decides to sleep next to you, while respectfully maintaining distance between you both. And for the first time in two weeks, he sleeps peacefully. Somi tiptoes into the bedroom to see you both sleeping together, she smiles, because she knows, that you both may have hit the rockbottom, yet you’re meant to be

Next morning, you wake up, with a terrible hangover. You reach for a glass of water on your night stand when you freeze in shock. Jay was sleeping right next to you. You get up in a haste, and rush over to somi’s room. “somi what is jay doing here?” You yell at the door of her room. All this commotion wakes jay up and he walks over to you and taps on your shoulder. You turn around, livid “what did you do to me last night? Why were you sleeping next to me?” Those questions hit jay like a slap. He couldn’t believe that you were accusing him of taking advantage of you. His face falls, and he leaves the apartment without a word. You call after him, “wait answer my questions first!” But he’s already gone.

Somi yawns, muttering “woah, slow down, tiger, what’s wrong?” You widen your eyes, and reply “what’s the matter?! Jay slept beside me for an entire night! How did you let him come here?!” Somi scrunches her face in annoyance, and sits beside you on the sofa. “y/n, my girl, first of all, calm down. And listen to me, without interrupting me for the next 5 minutes.” You reluctantly nod, and somi begins narrating everything that happened at the party and in the aftermath. She tells you that you’d drunkenly kissed heeseung and you gasp. “i kissed heeseung? What the hell, what were you doing? Why didn’t you stop me?” At that, somi smiles sheepishly “oh well, sorry bae, i was to busy talking to yeonjun and admiring his beauty” and you roll your eyes. Somi continues to tell you about how jay carried you back to this place, and she then tells you the conversation that happened between her and jay-

Jay watches you as you sleep, as he thinks of your cute moments. Somi knocks on the door, and motions for jay to follow her. She begins “jay, thank you, for protecting her and carrying her back safely. Who knows what could’ve happened with her-“ “hush don’t say that” replies jay, “i wouldn’t have let anything happen to her, i’ll protect her with my life if i have to.” Somi smiles warmly and says, “y/n’s knight in shining armor, if you cared and loved her so much, then why place a bet on her?” He sighs “ look, we placed a bet on her, and i wanted to win the bet. When we initially began our so-called dating, i felt nothing for her, it was all an act. But slowly, i fell in love with her. I’ve never fallen in love with any of the girls i’d bet on, but y/n was different. Without her, i felt lonely, and she drove me crazy. Jeez, i never thought i’d fall in love, but i did, with an angel. And now just because i fucked up, she’s no more my angel. Just-“ he breaks down into tears, and somi pities him. “please, somi, talk to her, tell her that i love with all of my moons and stars, and every day spend without her, is an agony for me” jay says, wishing that you’d come back to him.

You look down, regretting using those harsh words against jay. “i wish i hadn’t been so harsh on him.” You say and somi rubs your back, “y/n he clearly loves you, he’d never harm you, all he wants is for you both to get back together.” “but after so much, should i give him a chance?” You ask, worry adoring your face. Somi replies “everyone makes mistakes, bae, but can’t hold it against them forever. Give him a chance, i promise you won’t regret it” you nod and go out for a walk. The weather is wonderful, and it calms the storm of your emotions. The breeze is gentle on your face, and you smile, genuinely. Some part of your heart wished jay was here. He’d probably compliment you, tickle you, and crack some silly jokes. Your heart ached for him, and all you wanted was to see him again.

Suddenly you hear a clap of thunder and it starts raining. Normally you would’ve rushed back home, but you wanted to enjoy this rain. You spread your arms and do a twirl, enjoying the feel of the raindrops on your skin. That’s when you hear footsteps approach you, and you look at the person, your heart skipping a beat. It was jay. He’s completely drenched because of the rain, and so are you. And you’re suddenly so happy, that you rush into his arms and hug him tight. Jay’s taken aback but he hugs you back, feeling your warmth, despite the cold rain. “i’m sorry, y/n, i never wanted to hurt you. You may have been a bet, but i loved you with my everything. Give me a chance, please, i don’t want to be without you. I love you so much, baby.” He whispers, his voice quivering. You respond “it’s okay, jay, everyone makes mistakes, i’m sorry for being so harsh. I was just angry and hurt, but not anymore, i’ve missed you so much, and i love you more.” With that, he leans down and kisses you sweetly, and he tastes like sunshine and rainbows, just exactly how you wanted your love life to be.

That night, you both go back to your apartment, catch up on each other’s lives with warm mugs of hot chocolate. As you fall yourself dozing off, he pecks your forehead, whispering “go to sleep, my love, i’ll be right here, when you wake up” and you both snuggle into each other’s arms, feeling grateful for each other.

you ring the bell of his apartment, cheerfully, carrying a bag full of his favorite food. the door opens and he says, rather coldly “go away, i don’t need you here” and snatches the bag of food from you as he slams the door on your face.

you stare at his door in shock. what the hell was that? you went to see for his sake, and this is how he behaved? tears roll down your cheeks, and you head back home. once you’re home, you make yourself a cup of coffee, and fume silently at beomgyu’s behavior. just then, you get a message from him. he texted that he’s sorry for being so rude. you ignore his message. he sends another text, saying saying that he won’t hurt you again, and he wanted you to live with him for a few days.

out of your love for him, you forgive him and text him that you’d be there at his place in 10 minutes. when you’re finally at his place, you both make yourselves cozy on his couch. you can’t help but think about how distant he’s been the entire evening. to interrupt the awkward silence, you ask, “how are you feeling now, gyu? shall i make dinner for us? your favorite food?” and he replies, “firstly, my name’s beomgyu, not gyu. stop with your silly pet names” “but-“ you interrupt, only to get cut off by him, “second, do not make dinner if you think you’re doing me a favor. i don’t need your favor anyway” he snaps.

his words pierce your heart like a dagger. you silently curse his ex, because of whom he was being so toxic. thinking about all this, you doze off on the sofa. beomgyu, meanwhile, gets up to go to the balcony. he looks up at the sky, trying to soothe his mind by looking at the stars and forget everything what happened. instead, it brings in even more chaos in his mind and heart. taking out his phone, he scrolls through the photos of his ex. a single drop of tear falls from his eyes, and he feels a hand stroking his back.

he turns around to find you calmly reassure. for some reason, he pushes you away from him. with that, he walks out of the room, leaving you all by yourself to cry. i’m going nuts, i shouldn’t have pushed her, he thinks. he felt like pulling out every strand of his hair. it felt like his heart and emotions were frozen. and he knew no way to melt them.

for the next few days, he snaps at you with his venomic words. his words hit your heart like a cold, merciless breeze, yet you endure everything, because you love him. meanwhile, beomgyu drowns deeper in his misery. you do everything, to make him happy, from bringing in his favorite apple shaped balloons to buying his favorite ice cream, in hopes of warming him with your love.

but of course, nothing works. he was too blind in his hate and regret. you walk aimlessly around his house, searching for something, but you can feel nothing. he passes right in front of you, wordlessly. how cruel could he be? couldn’t he bother to talk to you? or atleast let you comfort him? you hear him talk to someone, and you tiptoe all over to his room, where you hear him say “yeah, well, she’s a bother. the only good thing is that she cooks for me and shit, but i’d rather want her gone. it’s mom who’s forced me to let her stay with me, cause mom thinks i might do something silly.”

that’s it. the last straw. you’re done with him, and you pack your suitcase to leave. “wait!” yells beomgyu behind you and you reply, “no, it’s too late now. i tried to do everything to make you feel better, instead you pushed me away, and spat venom. i regret ever trying to help, i regret ever loving you. i loved you so much, beomgyu, you always meant more than a best friend to me. but not anymore, i see you as a cold monster, who’s hurt me, emotionally, mentally, and even physically, even though it was only once.”

your words “i loved you so much, beomgyu” spin in his head. you loved him, but he was ignorant to your love. he knew, you were right. he was too harsh towards you, when you didn’t deserve it. you were there to comfort him but he instead took his anger and hatred out on you. “please, y/n, don’t leave me” he begs, but you shake your head “ i can’t do this anymore, you should’ve thought what you were doing before behaving like an asshole. don’t hurt the ones who love you for the ones you hate. “ and you walk out through his door, wheeling your suitcase behind you.

tears stain his cheeks. you left him forever, he’s lost you. he knows that he has to change, but the lack of his effort just further brings back to his misery, it’s like he trapped in an iceberg, with nowhere to escape. he hates himself, he hates his ex, he hates everyone who’s brought him this pain. he needed flame to melt him, to heal him lovingly , but his flame was gone. he’s in chaos and his back rests against the wall, the blizzard in his soul grows bigger, and he’s frozen.
