prilla’s story was fuckin. absorbed by tinkerbell and then corrupted to be shitty. prilla was a mainland visiting/clapping talent fairy. her talent was to teleport to the mainland and get children to clap to show they believed, which helped keep the fairies alive and well and helped neverland to stay… well, like neverland!  when prilla arrived in neverland she, unlike most other fairies, did not know what her talent was immediately. this led some other fairies to think she was incomplete, that part of the laugh that she came from got lost on the way. she acted strangely, she would curtsy like a human and hold her wings and say “how do you do” instead of typical fairy greetings. she was, in my eyes, a perfect metaphor for autism. in reality prilla’s laugh didint have a bit break off on its way to neverland, it brought a piece of her human with her. much like how autistic people are seen as lacking something, or missing a part of them, when really we’re just different/have a little bit extra to us. prilla’s general story of “not having a talent/discovering he talent” was absorbed by tinkerbell, who arrives and soon finds shes a tinker fairy. she doesnt want to be a tinker fairy. she eventually finds a way to like it. its a corruption of prilla figuring out her talent by making tink figure out how to like her talent. 

then theres rani. rani is the most talented water talent fairy in pixie hollow. in the book ‘fairy dust and the quest for the egg’, rani, vidia, and prilla are chosen to go on a quest to save mother dove’s egg, which is the source of neverlands… never-ness. this quest has the three of then retrieving a few items, namely a feather from the golden hawk, captain hook’s double cigar holder, and a mermaid comb. to get a mermaid comb someone would have to go underwater, to where the mermaids are, so they can get one.  the problem with this is that fairies, not even water talent fairies, can swim. their wings are extremely delicate, they take very long to dry, and the water would damage them horrifically.  so rani has prilla cut off her wings so she can swim to get the comb for them. rani cannot fly in a culture where flying is everyones main mode of transportation. rani cannot fly in a culture where people walk to little their shoes are literally decorative slippers. rani cannot fly in a culture that says goodbye by saying things along the lines of “fly with you later.” if you had yet to figure it out, rani is physically disabled. she literally does not have wings. she gets around by whistling to call brother dove, then climbs on his back so he can fly her places. she literally is physically disabled and uses a mobility aid. she doesnt even show up in the new movies, and they made up a new character who cant fly and uses a bird to get around. instead of not having any wings though, he just has a damaged one, and its treated as something hes ashamed of and hides. he also lost it cuz he wanted to hang out w/ his gf the queen, even tho she lived in the Warm Place and he was mr winter man.
