reading chapter 37 of the onimai anthology, the author, Onio, does a really cool thing where the onomatopoeia of cicadas chirping looks like it's physically outside, I haven't seen something like that done before

Remembering those interviews where Miyazaki talks about how his design comes from a place of masochism rather than sadism and another dev being baffled by his direction to keep the enemies' dignity & grace in mind, even when it's like, a bottom half of a dragon.
