I can't help but think about the fact that, ironically, Helaena seemed closer to Aemond than any of the other characters. Literally, the first time we hear her speak, itβs to utter a prophecy about him. We also know Aemond would have agreed to marry her had she been betrothed to him instead. Whenever the Greens are together, Helaena is often by Aemondβs side; she even touches him of her own accord. Season 2 shows that Helaena truly understands Aemondβunlike Aegon II or Alicent. Ultimately, Aemond seeks her help, citing their shared blood as the reason they can understand one another. And now, sheβs speaking again about her prophecy regarding him and his future death. Itβs so frustrating that these rare momentsβwhich are easy to miss if you blink or don't pay close attentionβjust slip by. Itβs crazy that the writers are incapable of crafting fully developed relationships. And Iβm sorry, but Aemondβs obsession with Alicent comes out of nowhere.
