1.5 years of sterek brainrot and I've somehow never drawn derek with red eyes nor the classic trope of the sheriff walking in on them? for shame, mel.

Any story featuring feral derek or him getting a little lost in his instincts are so important to me - this man who never gets to keep anything good in his life digging his claws into stiles and saying no, this one is mine, you can't have him - you see the vision 💭💭

Derek does not act like an adult because of trauma.

And I also don't get the whole he looks older than he is.

I'm 35, according to society I don't look my age. My husband just turned 37 and it's the same with him, he doesn't look his age.

I see teens looking in their 20's, I see 20's and 30's year olds looking like teens and early 20's. I think the whole 'what a certain age looks like' is bullshit.

I watched the show for the first time a few years ago, in my early thirties. I thought Derek was supposed to be like 19/20 due to how he acts and Stiles' comment about him being only a few years older than them. So I'm thinking ok someone recently out of high school. And he acts like that age.

They should have stuck with his original given age. All the actors for the teen characters didn't look like high schoolers. So why should how Derek looks matter? He doesn't act like a grown ass man.

It's always funny to me because in season 1 Derek does look quite young, he fits for being 19 - and Hoechlin was only 22/23 when season 1 was filmed, so quite young still (and yet people like to act like Derek and Hoechlin were a lot older) and the writers just...kinda vaguely aged him up because Derek got a beard.

And I think that's why Derek's age became something so up in the air, because the writers first messed up with the Kate storyline, but then instead of letting Derek be like 22 with a beard he had to be older, somehow, or some weird hybrid age with that weird werewolf age thing Peter brought up (but was never mentioned again).

Like Derek ages 6 years in just 2 years somehow but everyone ages appropriately. Like it makes no sense. (And antis love to just say Derek. is 30+ when even the actor himself wasn't that old in the first place.)

And yeah, the actors for Lydia, Allison, Malia, Isaac, Kira - all older than Hoechlin and yet they are passed off as high schoolers but not him? (or someone fresh out of high school) All because he could grow a beard? And got more buff when he was an Alpha? Lol okay.

Also there's the fact that it took 6 years to make 6 seasons of the show, but it only takes place over 2 years, so of course all the actors aged more than their characters in that time too. But only Derek catches strays over this? It's so ridiculous and unfair.

The episode where Derek is a fugitive that one moment where Styles is sitting in his Jeep following a lead with Derek and he's talking with Scott about the lacrosse game and Scott tells him that if he doesn't show up like now he's not going to be able to play at all it was probably the only time that he would be able to play the entire season. And then styles telling Scott to lie for him and choosing to follow what's important to Derek over what's important to himself. The look of shock and bewilderman on Derek's face may only last for like a couple seconds but it gets me every time.

Cuz it's the first time someone outside of his family has ever chosen him chosen what's important to him chosen what he values over their own selfish needs since Paige

“What exactly did you expect to happen when you pushed the big red button, Stiles?” Derek shouted over the sound of the blaring intruder alarms ringing through the hunter hideout.

“I don’t know!” Stiles exclaimed as he began frantically pushing the other buttons across the security panel. Then, almost too quietly for Derek to pick up, he added, “Something amazing, I guess” in an absurdly familiar cadence.

Derek gaped at him. “Does this seem like a good time to be quoting The Incredibles?!”

“No...it’s an incredible time to—”
