QUEERMANCE SUBMISSIONS
Are you an author? Do you write queer relationships? Are your stories about or set in Australia and/or New Zealand? Then we might have an opportunity for you.
Queermance is currently looking for short stories based in or around Australia and New Zealand as well as their people that have a queer relationship in them.
We are looking for stories that:

Are a minimum of 3000 words and a maximum of 10,000 words.
Have a strong connection to either Australia or New Zealand. This could be an Aussie or Kiwi expatriate overseas or a story set somewhere in Australia with a strong sense of place.
Are in by Monday the 16th of March 2015. Please email to [email protected]
Note: This call is open to international authors.

"Historically, queer is a radical term. Itâs an assault on heteronormativity and oppression. Letâs not tame it.â Â ~Bisexual Christian Writer + Student Activist Eliel Cruz, on Twitter 23 February 2015
Note: The term "Queer" was reclaimed starting in the late 1980âs/early 1990âs to help unify what is now colloquially referred to as (some variation of) the LGBTQ+ Community. Particularly to help in the fight against HIV/AIDS and the stigma and bigotry this engendered & excused.  Anyone who tries to say that âQueerâ isnât or wasnât meant to include Bisexual, Trans, Intersex, Genderqueer etc. people, and only refers to cis homonormative Gay/Lesbian people is either extremely misinformed or ⌠shall we say ⌠deliberately "fibbing".
