Floral Field
Pitch-black darkness in the moment before I open my eyes; a cool breeze dances across my skin. I can smell a mix of perfume scents that hit my nose. The aroma is strong, soft and sweet. I decide to open my eyes slowly; the bright light is blinding at first as my eyes adjust to the overwhelming colors. Roseās spanning so many different colors brightly shown with beautiful green leaves coding their stems. A row of fragrant hyacinths; soft pink, pastel yellow, brilliant purple, and bright white; with a row of sweet tulips and yellow cheery daffodils growing tall and strong behind them. There are bright orange tiger lilies bursting through the ground tall and almost glowing. sunflowers stretching towards the Sun slowly spreading the sunny yellow petals. gerberas scatter the ground below; lovely bright colors standing past the long and lovely leaves. wonderful and wild wildflowers scatter the ground below me mixed with the sweet Kentucky bluegrass. behind me are the pastel hydrangeas with a fluffy cloud texture. my eyes taking in the wondrous sight around me; however the thing about everything beautiful is that beauty never lasts forever.Ā
As the dark clouds roll by I feel a crisp chill in the air; and with the change the beautiful rose petals fall to the ground and the bright green leaves lose their saturation and shrivel as if all the moisture was gone. mold grows up the hyacinths turning the buds and stems into mush as the proud tulips blow open and lose their petals the daffodils turn a sickly brown and become crispier. The tigerās leaves are bare of pedals and the heavy sunflower heads wilt to the ground and gerberas shrivel up and curl. The wildflowers and bluegrass shrivel up and turn brown shrinking to the ground and the fluffy hydrangeas wilt and lose their brilliance. The dark clouds finally pass in front of the sun blocking out the light. white ice cold flurries fall in the sky above; the snowflakes cover my skin. all around the cold settles in freezing my body, and so I close my eyes; to enter the pitch black darknessā¦
