Some of my Pokémon hot takes

As an American I hate that they “translated”/Americanized our version of the books. It’s super jarring to read Dean calling it “soccer” for example, because that takes me out of the world of the British regions. They wouldn’t say soccer there. Also it feels a little insulting to have the title “dumbed down” from Philosopher’s Stone to Sorcerer’s Stone. I just think that since we’re reading British Literature, it should be wholly British. We’ll adapt, we’ll figure out the colloquialisms that don’t match up. Hell, we have to do that even in different regions of our own country! It’s all English, it doesn’t need to be changed like a full on translation might.

This is how all rape trials should go. Especially those of people who work in the sex industry because, unfortunately, some people take their profession as consent.
