A while ago, on my main Fetlife blog, I wrote about watching fetish porn with your significant other as a safe way to share and discuss your kinks. The problem with that plan is that, if you ever get into a position to share your weird porn with someone else, you have to be ready for the question.

"Why are you into that?"

Most people don't have an answer for the question beyond, "I dunno. I just am." This is an absolutely awful answer, because it tells your partner that there's a part of you that they cannot understand.

Usually, that answer comes from an unwillingness to be introspective, but even introspective people can lack the words to explain something about themselves. If your main exposure to your kink is porn, your primary sources aren't going be putting effort into explaining the theory.

So, I've started an entire series on how to explain your kinks. It's not meant to be comprehensive or well researched, but I'm aiming for it to be easy to understand. I want people to be able to have the words to discuss their fetishes. Maybe the explanations I give don't match your own experiences, and that's fine. You'll now have the words to say why I'm wrong and, if you're lucky, the words to say what you want instead.
