So, @hannibalcaesarcharlemagne was asking for Feuilly-centric stuff, and I thought I might as well give them a Fic Rec List! I hope you like them! ^^
Letâs start with the ones I canât not recommend, and Iâll try not to gush about them too much. ;)
âCarry Onâ, by fraternite (@takethewatch here on tumblr), a 45K fic about Feuilly coming to a new city and starting a new life. See him struggling with his past and his work, with the help of the Amis, a group of activists he befriends along the way. It is amazing, it feels way too real, the character dynamics are really good, and I love Feuillyâs journey. No ships (the ship is tagged âFeuilly/happinessâ, and thatâs a good descriptor), Feuilly may or may not be aromantic.
âThere Goes the Fearâ, by @pumpkinspice-prouvaire. A Platonic Soulmates AU, where Feuilly is dreading meeting his Soulmate because he doesnât want a romantic relationship⌠Luckily, Enjolras doesnât either. Aromantic Life Partners Enj and Feuilly own my heart. <3
âThe Future Is Owned By You And Meâ, by @quillsand. I love this fic so freaking much. Queerplatonic Enjolras/Feuilly, developing relationship, 46K, but letâs be honest: this is a Feuilly/unions fic. Feuilly works at an Amazon-style warehouse, and when they start worsening the work conditions, they decide to go on strike. The Amis are a direct action anarchist group, and you have a mix of traditional union politics and direct actions, and everything is so political in a way that feels so real and so true to the Amis! And the relationship is so soft and so caring and I love it so much. <3 <3 <3
And then, a couple of Bahorel/Feuilly fics! (Itâs not that these fics are less good, itâs just that I usually see Feuilly as being arospec, and also Iâm a sucker for Actual Political Movements in fic).
âpretend now (from here on out)â, by playedwright. A good old Fake Marriage fic. Feuilly isnât eligible for financial aids anymore, and he and Bahorel decide to get married for the benefits. It would be the perfect plan if it wasnât for the fact that Feuilly is head-over-heels in love with Bahorel⌠Great Friends to Lovers dynamic, Enjolras as Feuillyâs foster brother, and I love them all.
âignore and close your eyesâ, by wafflehood. This is from Bahorelâs POV, for once. Bahorel and Feuilly, bro friends extraordinaire, start joking around in a weird game of gay chicken, where they describe to each other the dates they would organize if they were dating. And Bahorel finds himself wishing they were real. Those two are the biggest bro to ever bro, but in a very respectful manner, and their dynamic is amazing.
