Fluorite
Fluorite is such an interesting crystal. It's incredibly colorful and diverse in appearance, while remaining pretty affordable. Rainbow fluorite is the most colorful variety so it's often a favorite, but I've been fortunate to stock some really unique variations like color-changing specimens, "blueberry" fluorite, and now this new find super purple fluorite that grows over candle quartz from Inner Mongolia.
To see all the fluorite I currently ave in stock, click here!

This month people have been tearing Flock cameras off their poles.
This month people have been tearing Flock cameras off their poles. Perched above public streets, they are birdlike things, weatherproof, and they photograph every passing car and file it in a searchable national database. Somebody cut two of them in half at Washington Avenue and Westcott in Houston, spray-painted the wreckage, and left an American flag on one of them. Police were notified on the morning of the Fourth of July. Somebody severed a camera in Rutherfordton, North Carolina. The police department posted the photograph itself and collected more than twenty thousand comments. āNot all heroes wear capes.ā āGive them a medal.ā Here is what the cameras do when nobody cuts them down. Cops use them to hunt immigrants and to follow ICE targets across state lines and to find women who ended pregnancies in states where that is a crime and to watch exes and to watch women they want, without a warrant and without a judge. A cop types a reason in a box and the box does not check. A man in Burleson, Texas, told deputies his girlfriend had taken abortion pills. He showed them the photographs, the FedEx envelope, the instructions. Deputies opened a death investigation into a non-viable fetus, and the district attorney told them the state could not charge her, and they searched anyway: 83,345 cameras across 6,809 networks, a month of everywhere she had been. The reason they typed was had an abortion, search for female. The search reached Illinois and Washington, where what she did was legal. They found her in Dallas. She came into the sheriffās office a week later, and they thought she had come to explain the fetus, and she had come to report that the man who called them had put a gun to her head. A sheriff in Jerome County, Idaho ran his wifeās plate more than seven hundred times in three months. He typed the same reason every time. Test. The attorney general found nothing to charge him with. He retired in April. The Institute for Justice counts at least twenty-two officers who used the system to track people they were romantically interested in, and calls that almost certainly an undercount. And the cameras keep falling.
Become ungovernable.
Need to add that these cameras keep being found by road safety inspectors to not comply with crash safety requirements.
As in street lights and crash barriers and sign poles are all built to break off at the base when hit by a car, but these things are getting cemented into the ground. What this means is if you hit them at speed, they will not break away easilly and instead your car will wrap around them.
And they KEEP putting them within the zoning around roads where the break-away poles are required and they do not give a fuck.
So, removing them is important as they do not comply with basic road safety building requrements, but anyone removing these safety hazards should keep in mind minimum bumper heights so there's no amount of pole sticking up that will cause damage to a vehicle if it crashes on the verge where it was installed.

Always remember that the EU did a study in 2013 about the effects of piracy on media publishers and found that there is no correlation between piracy and sales! (And then they tried to hide that study bc that's not the result they wanted)
So piracy is at worst not even a problem, and at best it's free advertisement.
Source: (the link to the actual study is in the article)
In 2013, the European Commission ordered a ā¬360,000 ($430,000) study on how piracy affects sales of music, books, movies and games in the EU
Plus this one:
A new report out of the UK once again deflates the common narrative that pirates are exclusively looking to obtain free stuff.

Imagine the surreal insanity of being Irina Petrova and just hanging out having a hobby that you're very intense about and then you notice something weird and then all at once your name is one of the most uttered in history, by total accident. In the movie universe they describe her as a "radio telescope enthusiast" she does not even do this professionally. And suddenly everything is Petrova line, Petrova frequency, Petrova wavelength, Petrovascope, Petrova Task Force, Petrova problem. And you're like man. I have a day job.

Authors, agents, publishers: every part of the industry is seeing the strain of five years of escalating anti-LGBTQ censorship.
if you'd like to show support, here are some upcoming queer books:
When Life Gives You Corpses is a brilliant YA about a cursed praying mantis who falls for a young witch. Yield Under Great Persuasion is a raunchy, but surprisingly sweet story about two men repairing their relationship. Fabulous Bodies is a horror story about a queer rockstar rising from the dead.
This is Where the Future Bleeds is a fantasy set in a vividly imagined land, where two women (who happen to kiss) are the key to healing the broken sky. You're No Better is a story about a teen struggling in the shadow of his murderous parent. Oil on Canvas is about a woman who finds disturbing paintings in the home of her dead mother.
and then here's a list of 26 queer books by Black authors set to publish this year, and a 10 upcoming books by trans authors. if you want to fight back against queer censorship, use your wallet! or (if that's not an option) you can contact your local library and ask them to stock a copy.
In addition: looking for indie publishers and queer bookshops is a great way to find and support queer authors and stories of so many infinite varieties! (The following suggestions are based on my UK-centric knowledge)
(Some) Queer Presses:
Lurid Editions are "a publishing project committed to intentional and conscientious acts of archival repair". They are "attentive to how marginalised histories are forgotten and remembered,Ā [and] hungry to rediscover overlooked queer books". They've just received funding from Arts Council England to engage queer readers in a project to contribute to the archive!
Cipher Press "Weāre really keen on the idea that queer and minority stories are for everybody, and we want to make our books ā and the stories they tell - accessible to all" (what an amazing mission statement!)
Anamot Press "Anamot [Ō±Õ¶Õ”Õ“ÕøÕ©] means shameless in Armenian. ā£ā£Anamot Press publishes poetry and prose on intersecting experiences of gender, sexuality, race, migration, class, belonging and loss - with no shame."
(Some) Queer Bookshops
Queer Lit Oh man, I remember when this was just a tiny little shop, and now they're the biggest LGBT+ bookshop in Europe! They do amazing work in donating books about being trans to schools and parliament! They have a pay-it-forward board that will make you sob with its notes of love and support. (You can tell I wish I still lived nearby)
Lighthouse For Scottish friends - "a queer-owned and woman led independent community bookshop. We are an unapologetically activist, intersectional, feminist, antiracist, lgbtq+ community space"
Gay's The Word The OG Queer bookshop in the UK. One day I will make my pilgrimage!!
This really is just a tiny snapshot of all the amazing work of celebration and resistance that's being done for Queer literature at the moment. We live in frightening times, but I promise there is still lots of love and joy and hope out there in spaces like these. Support them in whatever way you can!!
alright I'm almost finished Project Hail Mary, and I have to say, I don't get why people are shipping the guy with Markiplier when he's already in a perfectly healthy queer-platonic relationship with the alien spider made of rocks
that's insane. we need to change this
He has his priorities right

Ngl I totally forgot fandom discourse was a thing. I donāt care man, I have car payments
starting a collection
If I may submit:
can i be a big hater about something unrelated for a second
ok awesome
so i have finished a psychological thriller novel, and have begun the process of doing research so i can prepare to query agents. now, my novel has some pretty intense triggers in it, so i am aware itās a bit of a hard sellā that being said, many agents have a ādo not send me your novel if it has these thingsā list, so thatās what Iām looking for so i donāt accidentally trigger someone.
so iām going down this list, and i find this agent. their ādo not send meā list includes the following: non-consent/sexual violence, age gaps, teacher/student relationships, stalkers, cheating, everyone dies at the end, miscarriage/pregnancy, and abuse masked as love.
okay, cool! everyone has different tolerances for stuff, and itās perfectly reasonable to not want to be involved with a story that has stuff youāre uncomfortable with. not the agent for me, but good on them for defining their boundaries.
but then i scroll back up and theyāre requesting for gothic horror.
excuse me?????????
gothic horror without pregnancy or miscarriage? gothic horror without cheating? without stalking? gothic horror without major character deaths? GOTHIC HORROR WITHOUT ABUSE BEING FRAMED AS LOVE AND THE INTERROGATION OF THAT DYNAMIC?????
HEY CAN I GET A GOTHIC HORROR WITH NOTHING???
THATāS JUST A STORY ABOUT A BIG HOUSE
