âHey man, no need to be so nervous.â See replied with a reassuring tone before pouring a cup of tea for Nicolas. He slid the cup to the front of the counter for his guest to take.
âYouâre totally okay in here. Look around, sip some tea- if you needâta sit down, I can get you a chair.â A rather comfortable looking barstool seemingly slid itself up to the other side of the counter.
He took the cup presented to him into his hands , the warm tea inside feeling pleasant on his skin .
âT-Thank you b-but Iâm okay with just uh- standing and looking around-â
He noticed the barstool moving towards the other side of the counter. Was he⌠seeing things or did it just move on its own? He didnât take a sip of his tea yet so it definitely wasnât because of thatâŚ
Nicolas shakes his head slightly. He was completely losing his mind .
He starts looking around the shop , taking in all the things on the shelves until his eyes halt by a familiar looking object. Was this ⌠a human artifact?
Moving close , he looks at the artifact more intensely. No doubt. This is a human artifact. But howâŚ.
âLotta old human stuffâs been dug up, yâknow. Iâm really fascinated by what they left behind.â See sipped his own cup of tea while he watched Nicolas look around the shop.
Itâs completely obvious to the sea urchin that his visitor is a human in disguise- Seeâs absolutely thrilled at that fact, but he doesnât want to scare his guest away. He can clearly sense that thereâs a lot going on with this guy- and he wants to help.
Nicolas is quiet for a while , contemplating what to say next. He canât buy anything because he got no moneyâŚand the artifacts bring back those haunting voices again. Voices that are familiar and tries to ignore the best he could , but the longer he thinks about the past the louder the voices get.
He quickly gulps down the tea , not caring how much it burned his throat. He needed a distractionâŚ
âH-HuhâŚwhyâs that? I m-mean- why are you interested in what they left behind? They are all dead anyways.â
He hopes that the other doesnât notice the way he clings to the mug for his dear life.
See holds out a hand as he notices Nicolas growing more and more anxious. He'd hope the other would accept the reassuring gesture.
"A lot of what we have around here was influenced by what humans left behind- We owe a lot to 'em. They may be gone- but what they left behind, that legacy, keeps their spirit alive, y'know?"
The curtains at the front of the shop drew closed to block out the windows, and the sign flipped around to say 'closed'.
"You're safe in here- Okay? Take slow breaths, and do what you can to relax, alright? You can stop hidin' if you want. No one's gonna see you- well, aside from me."
