I agree it's not normal to take a boatload of supplements. It's also not normal to refuse to rotate crops or plant cover crops. It's also not normal to bombard food and drinking water with unhealthy chemical concoctions and microplastics. It's also not normal to have chronic illnesses or autoimmune disorders. Your reaction is justified, but your judgment is misplaced.

I think its crazy that modern farming thinks we've outgrown crop rotation like that isn't the technological development that originally enabled the existence of civilization as we know it. Oh also cover crops are mandated in the Bible and God promised the Israelites that their yields would more than compensate if they used them! But we think we're too smart and advanced for this??

I keep finding bookmarks in the books of my dad's location that I'm recycling.

I look at them hoping for something significant.

But ya know, there was exactly 1 book that he read and reread to the point where he memorized whole chapters. That book is the one I should care about if I hope to retain some shred of importance.

If I want to understand what shaped his heart and mind more, I better go back and read my Bible. Duh.

Why should I subsidize the employees’ wages out of charity, rather than the establishment budgeting wages into their prices? They’re a for-profit business, not a charity, they shouldn’t be relying on donations.

I’m NOT opposed to tipping. Im happy to tip for excellent service.

I’m opposed to the corporate structure that’s been created where it’s assumed that you’ll tip. It means that me leaving a tip for good service is now meaningless, because it’s EXPECTED and often REQUIRED, at which point just add 10% to all menu items and leave it at that

If me not tipping $3 at Starbucks is going to be the difference between someone making rent or not, I don’t think that falls on me, morally or practically I think that’s a symptom of a bigger issue, that I’d rather not be complicit in propping up.

Fast food workers at Starbucks or Chipotle already make 15+ an hour, those restaurants have no excuse to be so pushy towards consumers about tips. And nobody should feel guilty for not tipping there, that's tipping culture going out of control.

I took this post to be referring to traditional sit-down restaurants where you are waited on. Not tipping there is just cruel.

#I worked for service for 4.5 years #I hate tipping and tipping culture #and yeah my family and I don't go out to eat anymore because the food prices are too high #but I can't afford the tip on top of that. so #simply #the business will not be getting my business

We need to talk about "Dominion" for a second too. Like you know this means divinely appointed rulership. Yes: Humankind are the divinely appointed rulers of creation.

But what does this MEAN? Given what we know about the character of biblical leadership do you really think this means God appointed man to subjugate the earth into whatever it is we like in our own image and destroy whatever we don't like and make sure whatever is there exists to serve us and nothing that doesn't? To be maximally extractive?

No way, we are there to make sure the creation is flourishing in accordance with God's design!

I even heard preachers who had the nerve to say animals were created for man's enjoyment. No?? They were created to give glory to God, of course, like everything in the universe.

We have a unique responsibility to them as their rulers, not some kind of mandate to take whatever we can.
