I think I’ve been misreading my landlord over text. She’s actually cool

So she came over this morning to help with the chickens. We got the hen and one rooster in the actual coop with their water and food, and she tried to help me get my favorite rooster, who’s the weakest, into the other sort of coop. She gave me insight into the situation. She helped me find a lock for the coop. She told me that the previous tenant is who didn’t raise the chickens to go into their coop. Also, the plan is for, perhaps, her brother in law to take three of the roosters and for me to keep my favorite rooster and the hen and just keep them in the coop

Free range chickens come at a cost, and that cost is they just might get slaughtered at any time. It sucks. I will let them out occasionally under supervision but yeah until I kill the raccoon(s) my chickens are under lock and key

I love that rooster so much. I’m sort of hoping that the raccoon is caught in the morning and I can keep the chickens and feel at ease

And get more hens so I can get eggs again

I need to relax. I’m going to sit my butt in front of the tv with some popcorn. I feel happy that I cooped the hen up and hopeful about the trap so I believe I can finally somewhat relax. Although I worry about my boy. But also, I worry about him being relocated, so it may be merciful to just let him die anyways… he’s so stressed already

I am not relaxing lol. My guy can’t get in the tree tonight. Sometimes he can, but sometimes he just can’t keep balance bc of his missing toes. I’m praying that the raccoon gets caught
