Welcome! We are so very excited to bring you our very first official challenge. The mods have already taken their obligatory picture and it will be posted soon, but first, here's how YOU can contribute. *insert suspenseful music here*

1. Grab a Wendy of your choice 

2. Check out the "how to contribute post"

3. Take as many photos as you want (btw, if you want to glue Wendy to a balloon and take a pic of that in a photobooth, be our guest! Creativity in all it's beautiful facets is welcome here!)

4. Post your contribution to this community by using these tags: 'The Wendy Project' & 'Challange #1: Hello my name is Wendy'. We'll then re-blog them here.

5. Look, Love, Comment, Enjoy!

A word of advice, we've used double-faced adhesive tape to stick Wendy to our faces so far and while that works good on cold days... you get my drift. It pays to have a second batch of tape ready OR if you have a better idea on how to get the stuff to stick let us knooooooow :D As for not sticking it to your face at all. We've found getting your average drinking straw and sticking Wendy to it works brilliantly, plus, you get can get them anywhere! Depending on participation we might need to stretch our first challenge into September.

If you want to be part of the Wendy Project community, we kindly ask you to follow this simple set of rules.

1. Be nice! No flaming or bashing of other community members, their posts or ideas. No homophobic or racist slurs. We will not accept that kind of behavior and if after being warned you keep it up, you will find yourself banned from taking part. 

2. Posting Please follow the posting guidelines as found in this post. Also, PLEASE post your pictures using our specified tags, which will be mentioned in the monthly challenge post, to make them easier for us to re-blog them and to collect for our end of the month summaries. After all, this is a tumblr. whose goal it is to showcase a gleaning of all our collective Wendy endeavors. 

3. No Spamming What it says in the title, basically. Please don't use our tags in posts that are NOT related to Wendy and our monthly challenges. If you would like to pimp your or another tumblr. here, please contact us first through the 'Ask' box or through email: projectxwendy [at] gmail [dot] com.

4. No Hotlinking If you wish to share someone else’s post please link to their post instead of hotlinking the images. Same goes for any post that we make.

5. Please respect the users privacy If a member uses a tag of the community, we, the 'Wendy Project' owners, have permission to re-blog the pictures. We ask OTHER users/followers/tackers to ask the original owners of the pictures posted, if they are allowed to re-blog them as well, since some images might contain real people and their friends/family. Please respect this. Again, no hotlinking, crossposting etc. without permission.

6. Respect the mods privacy Please don’t follow the mods to their private tumblr.s unless encouraged to do so, if you need to contact one of them for some reason, please use the 'Ask Me Anything' box or sent us an email. In case of questions or emergencies: projectxwendy [at] gmail [dot] com.

Here are the available Wendys

The pictures should just fit on an A4 piece of paper, print and then cut them out and join the fun. We recommend using slightly thicker paper and then double-faced adhesive tape to glue the beard on to your upper lip (or wherever), sticking the beards to regular drinking straws works brilliantly if you find yourself somewhere where you can't glue the beard to stuff without causing damage. We'll post a tutorial on how to do this soon.

As a photographer

Chose a Wendy and print it. Decide on a kind of media (currently available are photobooth, instagram and Polaroid), take a photo or several with your chosen Wendy.

If you don’t have any access to any of our chosen media, feel free to grab the gifs we provided and photoshop your photographs into them. If you don’t know how to do that, you are welcome to email us and we’ll help you out at: projectxwendy [at] gmail [dot] com. If you have nowhere to host your image/images, please let us know and we’ll gladly host it for you. Before posting: Please add the header (as seen below this paragraph) in the caption box of your photo set post, and use the tags specified. Both will be mentioned in the monthly theme post. Please email us, or mention it in the post, if you DON'T want your image(s) cross-posted to our LiveJournal account! If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask.

As an artist Pretty much the same as a poster, however, if you want to contribute something else, like for instance more Wendys for everyone to use, please sent us an email at: projectxwendy [at] gmail [dot] com. New artists are always welcome. You will of course be credited as the creator of your very own Wendy.

By contributing your Wendy to projectwendy, you agree that it can be used in banners, icons etc. to pimp the community and widely distributed for members to use for this project. You also allow us to use it on our LiveJournal. If you disagree with any of this, please let us know and we’ll restrict the use to for instance icons or banners if that’s possible. If you contribute your own Wendy design your tumblr./a link to your artist page will be added to our list of artists.

Preliminary Schedule During the first three weeks of every month you should only contribute posts that belong to the challenge posted for that month, the last week though, is basically free-verse so any challenge we used before is a ‘go’. Challenges:

August: “Hello my name is Wendy” You and Wendy, using any of our media in any location you choose.

September: “Wendy around the World” Take a photo with Wendy and famous landmarks, for instance, it doesn’t if it’s you wearing Wendy in front of the Eiffel tower or the Eiffel tower wearing Wendy, as long as it’s a famous landmark, everything goes.

FAQ

What is The Wendy Project?  The Wendy Project is an art project. We got inspired by that wonderful "Loki'd" video starring Tom Hiddleston, and decided to create our own Wendys. Basically, we will provide monthly themes and will then take photos fitting those themes with our Wendys and post them here and on our LiveJournal.

Am I allowed to make icons and other graphics using the communities Wendys?  Yes and No. You can use Wendys as provided by the community to make icons and banners/graphics only to pimp this community or add it to your own post containing your very own Wendy adventures. There are many beards available on Google that you can use. We've had our Wendys designed specifically for this project. If you still have questions about this, please feel free to ask us.

How can I contribute to the project?  We've made an entire post about it, which you can find here. The short version is, print your Wendy of choice, take photos according to the theme of the month and share them with us. You can do this either by emailing us and having us photoshop it into the media of your choice (we've also got our own photobucket account, so we could host the images for you) or posting directly to your own tumblr by using specified tags and the posting template provided. You will find those in the monthly theme/challange post.

Is Wendy fandom specific?  While Wendy originated in the Hiddleston/Loki/Thor/Avenger fandom it can be applied to any fandom you wish, it's just a beard it can go anywhere and do anything. If you want to dress up as Samantha Carter, Draco Malfoy or The Doctor and wear a Wendy or just be your old self, that's perfectly alright with us, we'd love to have you!

Where am I allowed to pimp the project?  Anywhere you please, as long as you link back here. If you pimp this at a community etc. just make sure the mods are okay with you pimping it there.

Do I need to have an LJ/Tumblr account to participate/contribute?  The beautiful thing is, everyone can take part in this, you don't need a tumblr account you don't even really need an LJ account to take part. If you want to, or your friends want to and they don't have an account on either site, we'd love to help you contribute by using the mod account to post your photos for you.
