The mention about character interpretations sparked my mind a little, and I think it'd be cool (if we have an artsy people in the club because I know that I am 100% not, lol) if members submitted fan-art or graphics relating to books we read? Definitely love the idea of compare/contrast posts when people have differing opinions, though! ...but I'm not sure what disqus is/means?
Ahhhh! Ama and I had discussed this a little (back when weren't certain how well this might take off) along the similar lines. Great to know we're on the same page! We'd even love to take it a step further - all kinds of fan submissions about the current books would be super fun! Fanfics*, fanmixes, dreamcasts!
Yay! I'm glad you like the compare/contrast posts! It's something we did a couple times when I was on newspaper, and when handled maturely, it's really fun to look at two contrasting opinions - even more so when they can sway you from one side to the other! And I feel like it'd just be a really community project!
Oh, sorry, I totally meant to link to disqus! Basically, it works like a thread in forum, or... you know the sort of discussion set ups used by online classes? Where it might be something like this?
A's comment-- B's reply-- C's reply**-- A's response to C's reply
B's comment-- C's reply**-- A's response to C's reply
It pretty much works that way, and keeps enough organization that you can see who is replying to who and who is talking to who, but still allows you to make responses separate from that discussion. So we could set it up something like
Now that she knows they're not her real parents, what do you think she's going to do?-- Definitely going to confront her parents**-- I think she's way too scared to do that-- Maybe start searching for her parents on her own?
What was your favorite scene/moment in this reading?-- I really loved that moment when....
I hope that helps clear it up? :3
(* Keep in mind, if ever you should decide to submit fanfiction we would prefer to keep things one shots, just because it's easier. One shorts, short stories, vignettes, drabbles, etc. But all the same, we would definitely love to have it, and even discuss a little, because it's so fun to see peoples' different headcanons and interpretations!)
