About sacrifice, choices, survival, never giving up hope, and on LOVE.

For me the ending was perfect for the story, even if I wanted so moreeee

The story is captivating and so beautiful :)

When Sharhrzad volunteers to be the next wife of the Caliph of Khorasan, Khalid.

I just loved Sharhrzad (Shazi) from the beginning

« My king.” I will live to see tomorrow’s sunset. Make no mistake. I swear I will live to see as many sunsets as it takes. And I will kill you. With my own hands. »

Shazi and the beautiful monster Khalid won me over 

« The caliph swiveled to face the shahrban. “You’re right, General. You do not understand. And you may never understand. Regardless, I’d like to introduce you to the Mountain of Adamant . . .” The caliph glanced back at Shahrzad, a ghost of a smile playing across his lips. “My queen. »

« I could never love such a man . . . such a monster. » well he already stole my heart girl

And I feel goosebumps and butterflies in every Khalid’s scene, word... 

« Khalid stayed silent for a moment. “You have a beautiful laugh. Like the promise of tomorrow.”  »

« When he caught her staring at his mouth, Khalid exhaled slowly. “Shazi—” “Be with me tonight,” she breathed. “In all ways. Be mine.” His eyes turned to fire. “I’ve always been yours.” He cupped her chin in his palm. “As you’ve always been mine. »

Shazi was a refreshing main character. Did I mentioned I loved her ?

« She nodded. “I can’t say I’m surprised. As for me? I believe I’ll leave this set of goods on the rack, as well. I have no interest in . . . tiny cucumbers.” At this, Khalid’s head twisted to hers, his eyes registering shock. And the edge of his lips twitching. The silence around them was deafening for a painful beat. Then a wild chorus of amusement filled the air. »

My royal couple, they are sexy and consuming <3

« Me? This is not my fault! This is your fault!” “Mine?” “You and your temper, Khalid!” “No. You and your mouth, Shazi.” “Wrong, you wretched lout!” “See? That mouth.” He reached up and grazed his thumb across her lips. “That—magnificent mouth. »

I ship Khalid and Shazi so hard

When she finally asked THE question

Favorite Jalal’s and Omar’s lines :

I missed the original brothers, the romance, the true BDB and with this book, The Black Dagger Brotherhood world is back!

This book follows two couples: Marissa and Butch / Craeg and Paradise. 

And let me tell you that Blood Kiss was a really good start with GREAT female characters

I shipped Paradise ( an aristocratic daughter who’s father works for the King as his first advisor ) and Craeg ( a commoner who joined the training program )

« It was raw and it was honest, just between the two of them. And that made it … beautiful. Because it was real. »

« Do you like playing with fire, girl?” he growled. “Because if you keep looking at me like that, I’m going to burn you to the ground. »

Magic Mike scene with the females, OMG freaking hilarious, best scene of the book.

« They’re watching Magic Mike,” someone said. “Is that a children’s show?” He sat back as Fritz put a heaping plate of lamb in front of him. “Thanks, man—oh, thanks, yeah, I’d love a drink. I’ll take a Lagavulin on the rocks—” Butch stopped talking as he realized the entire table of males was looking at him. “What?” “You haven’t heard about Magic Mike?” Rhage demanded. “No.” He leaned back again as his drink was delivered. “Thanks. Is it like Barney?” “It’s about strippers,” Hollywood countered. Butch frowned and lowered the glass from his lips. “I’m sorry? »

I loved the new, young recruits and I am looking forward to seeing more of them in the next books

I never disliked Marissa even though I shipped V and Butch and I missed them so much

« I need to go on a date, he thought. “Where are we going?” V asked in his ear. Shit, he’d said that out loud. “Not you.” “Hurt. Seriously hurt over here,” came the tinny reply. »

I loved how Paradise and Craeg couldn't resist each other

« If I kiss you,” he growled, “there’s no going back. I might not fuck you right here, right now, but I’ll have you on your back the instant I get the goddamn chance. »

« I’m going to show you how to take care of that by yourself. And you’re going to make me come when I listen to what it sounds like.”  

I think I liked Marissa even more in this book than I did in her own

When V told Marissa about Butch and Xhex

When Craeg saved Paradise’s life after their fight 

Just a little sad that I didn't get any Quay in this book, but over all I loved this book and can't wait for the next one :)
