2026 Louis reviews: Made In the A.M.

1D was founded in 2010 and organized underneath old-fashioned/old school, entertainment industry people. So it makes sense that they would manage the images of the band and individual members of the band in a very heteronormative way. Because that is what had been proven successful in the past. All the biggest artists and bands were either straight or did not admit to their sexuality if they were queer (at least until they were past the height of their popularity.)

BTS wasn’t even fully together as a group until 2013 and didn’t break into the American music scene in any major way until 2017.

Many people have said that Larry were much more open about their relationship in the early years of the band in the UK, and that the harsh closeting began in 2013 with 1D’s big push into the US.

So between 2013 and 2017 is four years for BTS’s management to watch the way that Larry’s relationship was handled inside the band, with fans, in the media, and how it worked out. Plenty of time for them to realize that harsh squashing of rumors doesn’t make them go away. In fact, it can actually fuel the fire. I’m guessing that after BTS’s management had the luxury of watching a western boy band go through something similar, they opted to take a different approach with the way their band’s and it’s individual member’s images were handled. How nice for them that they had Larry to pave the way for them.

Additionally, a lot of the control over how much Harry and Louis interact (or don’t at all in this case) has to do with the fact that Jeff/Irving and Sony wanted to make Harry Styles a global superstar. That meant separating him from the boy band image that he had in the past so that people could see him as a solo performer. Whether people like to admit it or not, it worked. I know many people in the GP that have absolutely no idea that Harry came from a boy band/1D.

So, anon, before you assume that Harry and Louis’ lack of interaction in public or on social media means that they aren’t friends or don’t have a relationship because BTS members do it differently, do some research.
