Think of your childhood self as someone who exists now. How would you protect them from feelings of trauma, insecurity, and emotional pain? That child needs you.
Honestly I'm just trying to be the adult that child needs.. because I still feel like the child.
It's perfectly okay to still feel like the child and to be at a place in your life where you feel like the child. My take on this? Your inner child may need time to process what has happened and what is happening. There's no deadline or expectation of when that has to stop either, those are cultural concepts of a society obsessed with productivity.
This raises a good point: You do not have to be the adult helping the child all of the time and I'm sorry if there's any expectation in your life that you have to be. If there's anything that I want to share with you in this reply, it's this: you are who you are and that's more than okay. Embrace that inner child and allow them to express their pain. Being their adult or parent sometimes involves listening and allowing them to cry or vent their feelings. I hope that you know that it sounds like you're doing a wonderful job.
Keeping your integrity and hopefulness in the midst of adversity is one of the bravest things you can do. You can get through this and you can do this.
Your opinion matters.
Your feelings matter.
What you want to do matters.
You are valid.
Please don't be too hard on yourself. You truly don't deserve such harsh criticism. You're not perfect. You're human.

Your best, what you feel you can do right now, is more than enough. You don't have to burn yourself out for the sake of anything or anyone.
Its okay to break your routines and take care of yourself. It just is. You don't need an excuse.
@butterflybelle14 mentioned in their tags:
#Okay but can someone explain that to my ocd? #Breaking routines is so contradictory to taking care of myself that I can't even fathom it most of the time
..So I'm going to try to explain it because I want to help! Here it goes:
Breaking routines isn't the only way to practice self-care. The truth is that there isn't a one-size-fits-all solution to it. It is often dependent on who you are and how you think. There's absolutely nothing wrong with this not working for you! In fact, a lot of routines are very healthy and not the type that should be broken! Here's what I believe the takeaway should be from this post:
There's nothing wrong with doing what works best for you! You and your struggles are unique and so your solution may have to be unique too! I can't speak for anyone with OCD and I'm not a licensed psychologist, but I'd say that stepping away from things that don't help your OCD in order to do things that *do* help your OCD is what my initial post is attempting to say.
I hope that clears things up!
Your ability to work or go to school is not an indication of your worth. You are worthy no matter what you're able to do.
Trying is defying the odds

You don't have to be Wonder Woman or Superm an, you're already wonderful and super because you do what you can.

You can be the one to make a positive change in your life and in the lives of others.
It's okay to be you.
Its okay to get angry, frustrated, sad, and tired. Healthy positivity is saying that the situation will get better anyway.
Here's to the tomorrows that are hopefully better when today doesn't go the way you planned 🥂🍾🍻
Here's your sign to throw caution to the wind and show yourself some kindness and love!
