I cannot stop laughing at the idea that socialism ignores humanity’s highest spiritual ideal: owning yachts.

I also love the idea that prisoners and slaves have perfectly fine lives where they basic needs are met, but they tragically lack yachts 😔

it strikes me as odd that all this research into the "mediterranean diet" was not accompanied by equally extensive research into the "mediterannean healthcare system"

Also the original research into the Mediterranean diet was performed over Lent, did not mention this, also involves just asking people what they have eaten over the last week which is a notoriously bad method, and then also mysteriously excluded half of the countries analyzed because they didn't fit the trendline of more fat equals more heart disease.

in case europeans were worried: we love them very much! even tho they’re clumsy and slow and sometimes bump into you, no one swats fireflies here, or takes them for granted. even grownups sometimes reach out in the summer and gently catch a firefly for a minute before letting it go.

i was at an author event recently and a mom came up to me and was like “you should make sure in your books that you have a page where it’s a whole house but cutaway and you can see into all the different rooms like a dollhouse and there’s different things going on in the different rooms. little girls love stuff like that” and i was like that is so true and i bet you also love it. i love it too. don’t worry
