IT'S A DISTRACTION!

Im about to finish reading the book, why does no one talk about how much more fucked up Graces trauma is in the book compared to the movie?

No fucking wonder the dude chose to travel to Erid in a heartbeat outside just being friends with rocky, imo the movie skipped over wayy to many important plot points.

Anyway, on a completely unrelated note, imagine if Danny falls through a portal in the Ghostzone while fighting a ghost and he ends up in space and the portal closes the moment he gets out so now he's stuck in the middle of space with no idea where Earth is. And then he kinda just hitchhikes a spaceship he sees from the distance. (what a coincidence! He's finally lucky!) Wait. Isn't that the guy NASA sent out to space a while ago on this one-way trip? Wait. Is that an alien rock in a hamster ball??? So now the Hail Mary's current crew is:

A middle school science teacher

A half-fish dude (if you go down the Bloodymary rout lol)

An alien sentient rock

And last but not least: a half dead 14 year old

i know their universes are separate but mark watney randomly picking up a hobby of intensely following a niche branch of microbiology while he was recovering from the mars debacle would be so him

random thoughts at 4am had me thinking about how useful he'd be to the project because of his outside the box thinking and creativity
