Can you recommend any eruri h/c fiction with Erwin at the hurt part and Levi as the caring part? My angsty shipper heart needs some pain. But I also take anything fluffy like stubbed toes or something. By the way you are awesome! Your fic recs led me to so many hours of good reading material.
Thanks Anon! Glad youâre enjoying the recs. Honestly this fandom has so many amazing writers, itâs a pleasure to rec them.Â
Hurt comfort is one of my biggest kinks, and one of the reasons why I love Eruri so much. No one suffers with more pain and self-sacrifice than Erwin, and who could be more caring and compassionate than Levi?
@birbwin really is the master here of course. Nobody writes better or more original Eruri hurt comfort ficlets than @birbwin and they are never less than perfectly in character. Just read your way through her Eruri Ficlets & Mc'drabbles and youâll find plenty of excruciating hurt and heartbreaking comfort. If I can pick out one or two thoughâŚ
Chapter 103Â He hears his heels clipping loudly against the floor before he even sees him. His shoulders are more rigid than usual, his eyes harder. A folder is tucked tight under his arm, pinched at the middle.Levi unfolds his arms and pushes off the wall, falling in line behind Erwin as he silently fiddles with the lock. Thereâs no apology for being late, not even a greeting. Heâs angry.
Chapter 105Â An apple locked between his teeth, two slices of plain bread in one hand and a hot cup of tea in the other. This is how Levi finds him at three in the morning, hunched back rummaging through the kitchen like a starved trainee. Downright undignified.âThought there might be a big animal pilfering food in here,â Levi drawls.
Chapter 106 Erwin made his way towards the nearby forest, wisps of its belly glowing with the falling sun. He counted the seconds. OneâŚfiveâŚten. And, ah - Levi fell behind him in a soft, loyal trot.
Chapter 117Â Erwin bent haggard and near broken over his desk, fatigue bone deep and throbbing behind his eyes. The cruel and inevitable ache of a long expedition always settled in two days after their return. He rubbed at the jelly of his eyes. He had been marvelling at the coloured blotches behind his lids as he thumbed them when Levi suddenly stepped into his office, closing the door behind him with a sharp click.
Read em and weep. Moving on to our other supremely talented authorsâŚ
Resurrection by @world-war-eruri After an accident takes his friends and his arm, Erwin is lost, a ghost in the world. Can a prostitute he meets in the park help him feel alive again? - This is so beautiful, but it almost killed me the first time I read it.Â
How to Breathe by @flecksofpoppy. Omegaverse. There are many secrets in the Survey Corps, whether itâs the latest expedition objective or which noble has financed it, but one of the best kept is more akin to barracks gossip than political revelations. And thatâs what exactly Commander Erwin Smith is. -Beautiful, tender and never less than perfectly in character.Â
Salt by revai-lution. Erwin Smith was willing to give up his life, so he didnât really mind losing his arm. Losing his mind, however, was more than he could possibly bear. His resulting isolation was crafted, deliberate, and meant to be permanent. He never could have planned for the voiceless boy that the storm washed ashoreâŚeven if he wasnât quite convinced the boy was real. - Another one of my all time favourites.
The Sin-eater by @valisi-clark. After his mother died, Levi prepared for the sin-eater. - This isnât really h/c but it definitely has Levi caring for Erwin and itâs breathtakingly original, as is all of Valâs writing.Â
Coup de Grace by Cherry. The titans have been defeated, and Levi has dreams of seeing the sea and the lands beyond the walls. But Erwin lost more than his arm in the war.
@kaguneko also writes beautiful canonverse hurt comfortâŚÂ
Chapter 1 Levi noticed the grey tinge creeping up Erwinâs cheeks for days before the cough rattled at his chest.  It reminded him of the way people looked in the Underground and he wondered if Erwin was as hyperaware of the caverns under their feet as Levi was, haunted by crumbling buildings crawling with people who fought to make it through one dark day after another.
Chapter 22Â Levi found Erwin in his office with an open bottle of expensive alcohol sitting by his elbow and ink stained fingers cramping over papers. He peered around the door, pointed-nose first, with a curious expression on his face, but Erwin didnât have time to ask what he wanted before his mouth thinned and his brows pinched.
And I might have written one or two myselfâŚ
Written on His Skin Erwin Smith does not drink when he is in command. Thatâs why Levi knows itâs bad news when he returns from the bar one night and finds Erwin, not at his desk where he left him, working through the inevitable pile of paper work, but sitting on the floor by the window, glass in hand, a half empty bottle by his side.
Defending the Walls Erwin Smith has spent his life defending the walls. He has given everything he has and more, but not to keep the walls standing, Erwin has given every shred of his humanity, to ensure that one day the walls can be torn down. Levi is not a poetic man but even he can appreciate the irony. Sometimes he wonders if the walls are the only thing holding Erwin together and he wonders what, if anything, is left of the man inside.
I hope these provide enough pain for your angsty shipper heart Anon!
