Working For The Knife:
Rumi was cursed chosen, she would be the final piece of the puzzle, the last layer of the Honmoon. She was the embodiment of the light meeting darkness, the best of both sides of an eternal war.
When the day comes that Mira and Zoey learn of the prophecy, Celine keeps the whole truth from them, that she is not only the key to their salvation, but that she is also what they’re meant to destroy. When they instead swear to save her, she decides they have to know the whole truth. They can’t swear to try and save her and not know who, what they’re really fighting for.
Or: The Honmoon has chosen Rumi to be the one to finally put to rest the war between light and dark, her sacrifice will be the final step. Mira and Zoey can’t live with that, not when she is a part of them, not when she opens herself open to them fully and lets them see her, not when there’s this something between them.
But then, gold begins to shimmer along the Honmoon, almost taunting them: the end is drawing near.

Villain:
Starting a few weeks before Huntrix’s world tour, Rumi begins to have complicated feelings when she’s around her bandmates; the way Zoey makes touch feel so easy, the way Mira casually compliments her, how they both look to her for guidance always trusting her. When it gets to a point where she can no longer deny how she feels around them, she decides to try and double down, deny them just one more time- leading to a new patch of patterns spreading out from her heart.
Every denial of her feelings, of them, sends the patterns crawling further along her skin until they threaten her voice, threaten their Golden promotion run.
But that night, even after running and saying nothing, Mira and Zoey are there and ready to catch her when she falls into their arms that night. She lets herself be loved by them, lets herself be selfish enough to ask to stay with them.
In the morning, she realizes her patterns have begun to shrink.
Or: Rumi begins to fall for her bandmates and when she can no longer avoid the feelings, her patterns spread and burn along her body. She convinces herself the issue is handled, totally under control, until she loses her voice and all she can think is to run.
When she gets home, she finally lets herself ask Mira and Zoey for help, for comfort, to stay- and they give it to her, their love and care without pause or question why. In the morning, she notices the patterns have shrunk.

Why’d You Invite Me to Your Wedding?(Whyd I Say Yes?):
It’s 2:37am when Rumi gets the text. It’s been years since her name has shown up on her phone, years since sh- That doesn’t matter now. The preview of the message alone is enough to tell that Mira is drunk, a few typos she’d never slip by sober glaring up at her until- three words catch her eye.
She chokes on air, stomach dropping and heart shattering all in one fell swoop, ‘im gerting marries’.
(Loosely inspired by why did you invite me to your wedding by Kevin Atwater)
Or: Rumi gets an invitation the Mira and Zoey’s wedding, and in spite of how much it will hurt to see, she RSVPs.

All Our Best Ideas(Which One Gets Us You?):
Zoey has 57 ideas to help Rumi’s voice, starting with seeing Dr. Han in the morning for some of his magical tonics. Then, there’s the classic hot tea with a generous amount of honey, syrupy sweet just the way Rumi likes it. Then if those didn’t work, there was also a good old fashioned break, which means if she plays her cards right, might mean a bathhouse trip with Rumi, maybe steam is good for vocal chords? It’s worth a shot at least.
Her motives are strictly pure, until she realizes how good it feels to have so much of Rumi’s attention on her, following her guidance without a second thought despite the failed tries, telling her how thankful she is to have Zoey around each time they cross on idea off the list, the way Rumi begins to reach for her more- it’s almost too much.
That’s when she recruits Mira to start a new list of ideas, one made up of ways to show Rumi she was loved.
Or: Zoey’s other ideas to help fix Rumi’s voice, some are better than others, but all were thought of with care for her behind them. But when she and Rumi get closer than Zoey expected and new feelings start to simmer under her skin, she and Mira start a new list of ideas of ways to show Rumi she was loved.
