Highschool AU Mira set to the song Water Fountain by Alec Benjamin as she mourns not being able to provide the safety and security that her girls needed, watching them turn to others who can, wishing she could have been enough for her girls.
Zoey takes Mira to Rumi's concert, they both can't stop swooning and get carried away in the restroom.
(Shameless smut but also it's corny somehow)
Lights out around the stadium meant only one thing, and Mira’s heart was pounding as the crowd roared around her. The loudest fan was Zoey, who was squeezing Mira's hand tight, unable to contain her excitement. Most of her doubts faded away after hitting the merchandise stand, where her girlfriend brought Mira not only a light up wand but a hoodie. One that Mira was already looking forward to putting on after the show. She couldn’t believe she wasted so much time not letting herself enjoy the spectacle.
It didn’t have to be a big deal Rumi would never know she was here - just another fan in the crowd.
As Mira's heart raced, sweat dripped off her forehead in the packed stadium eager for the show to begin. The thing was, Mira had decided shortly after she and Rumi had parted ways that she wouldn't engage with her music. Not out of any ill will. It was just part of Mira putting that chapter of her life to an end.
Out of sight (or in this case hearing range), it was out of mind.
Some unconscious part of Mira believed she needed to let go, and in order to do that she couldn't ever let herself enjoy Rumi's music. Now that all seemed so ridiculous. After only an hour of embracing this world fully, she was overjoyed to be standing in the third row centre stage. Mira actually felt a buzz with an energy as if on the precipice of something and she just needed to take the final step.
Unsure of what exactly that could be only left a slight unease in her gut.
With Zoey’s hand firmly in hers, Mira was willing to dive right off the edge.
"Three... Two.... One!" Mira screamed along with the crowd just before the stage exploded with lights, music, and a purple haze that poured out of the smoke machines.
Stepping out in boots, shorts, a yellow jacket and long top braid, Rumi belted out a high note as the bass guitar sent vibrations through Mira's chest.
Zoey was immediately singing every word in perfect harmonization with Rumi, and Mira smiled wide before joining in without even thinking about it. By the time the chorus kicked in, they were both jumping up and down. Mira usually kept her eyes on the dancers at a live show, but her eyes didn’t leave Rumi. Entranced by the intricate costumes, props and display screens all working to create an optical illusion of a Rumi that was falling through the clouds.
Mira was surprised to find herself wanting to run up on stage and be a part of it.
Then, before Mira had realised the song was over, the beat changed tempo as the stage emptied of dancers and fog cleared, leaving a single spotlight following Rumi.
Like she was the centre of the world.
An undeniable presence that easily got the crowd's attention with a look. Her chest still and strides even, there was no sign she was even a little out of breath. Rumi smiled wide, somewhat awkwardly - it was a purposeful display of an expression that the idol had become known for and the crowd cheered. All eyes were on her as she walked across the length of the catwalk. "Thank you, and welcome to the final show of the Patterns world tour!" She paused as the crowd roared again. "This is my home; I started this here and we will end it here, because you can always go home," She said, knowingly referenced the next song, and the crowd roared even louder, as if they didn't already know the setlist.
Mira was sure she was one of the few people in the stadium with no idea what was going to happen next.
Zoey definitely did, and was jumping around so much that she was pulling Mira with her, causing her beer to spill out over the rim of her cup.
"Careful babe," Mira laughed as the familiar melody played.
"Sorry-sorry, it's just this is my favourite song."
"Really?" Mira said in faux surprise, "You only play it at least once a day."
"You know, just always going back and forth growing up. I mean you know that home was always something I was missing a little-"
"I get it," Mira said, smiling wide. She placed a hand on Zoey's neck, holding her still so she could lean in and kiss her lips. They tasted of vodka and cherry and were ice cold from her frozen beverage. "Mhmm," Mira hummed, before sliding her tongue along Zoey's lips.
Zoey’s hands surged up around the nap of Mira's neck and the kiss quickly deepened as Rumi's voice cut through the thumping base and roaring crowd, fierce and true.
"I know sometimes you’re feeling lost. It's hard to find your place in it all... Cause, I found my heart and broke it here..." Rumi sang, her low notes riddled with a heartache.
"We're missing it," Zoey said, as if suddenly remembering they were at a concert.
"Right, sorry." Mira smiled, putting one arm around Zoey as they turned and looked up at the stage.
Rumi was right at the edge and leaning over, waving at the crowd while pointing out signs and making love hearts with her hands. So close Mira could see the sweat dripping from her forehead.
"You can grow, but the foundation’s been laid, your roots remain the same," Rumi sang and Mira's heart stuttered
Then Rumi's eyes locked onto Mira's.
Mira instantly froze while Rumi didn't miss a note "I know, I can always come home." Her eyes didn't leave Mira. The words felt like a shock to her heart, reviving something she had long since believed had faded away.
Denial was a hell of a placebo, and now Mira felt a warmth wash over her that was nostalgic in the sweetest way. The echo of a special bond that two young girls navigating their teens years together would forever share.
The singer abruptly pivoted, facing the left side of the stage now, hitting the same part of the chorus, with the same perfect technique and just enough emotion. Mira snapped out of her haze.
"Holy crap, Mira! Rumi was totally singing to you,"
Zoey wrapped her arms around Mira, shaking her and screaming so hard she considered if Zoey would fry her vocal chords by the end of the night. "Do you think Rumi actually recognised me just now?"
"She definitely did!" Zoey screamed excitedly. "My girlfriend is so cool, and you're practically drooling," Zoey laughed, enthused.
"I'm glad you think this is cool; most people would be upset if their girlfriend was in the third row of their ex's concert. Could be cause for a fight," Mira joked, nudging Zoey slightly.
"I can't judge... Plus, that was so hot," Zoey squealed before she let out a breath. "But are you okay?"
"Am I ok?... I love you so much..." Mira kissed the top of Zoey's head and smiled, because it didn’t feel weird or wrong to check Rumi out, or even delve into her feelings a little. It was a nice reminder of a good chapter in her life.
The thing was, Zoey and Mira had dabbled in having a third before and it was always casual, they had no issue if the other found someone else attractive. As Mira and Zoey usually shared the infatuation, swooning quietly or even flirting a little with a third. Once or twice had brought someone home with them for the night.
They had not just trust in each other but faith in their love, the kind that let them be open to possibilities.
"I love you too Mira," Zoey replied, practically giddy.
The tempo of the music slowed and the world fell away. The crowd quieted respectfully as Rumi's voice seemed to croak and break when the third verse referenced Miyeong, Rumi's eomma and a K-pop Idol herself. Mira's hand instinctively tightened around Zoey’s as the memory of visiting her grave with Rumi. Recalling how proud she was to introduce Mira to her eomma, came to the forefront of her mind.
"I know, I can always come home" Rumi's words were like a wave of energy washing over the crowd as she hit the titular note.
A single silent tear trickled down Mira's cheek as the song reached its end.
The music never stopped switching to faster a beat, while Rumi quickly swapped out her glittering golden microphone, for a blue guitar, shifting the mood instantly. Rumi’s eyes wide with a faux sense of fear, stepping carefully as if danger was near, which resulted in another uproar of cheers from the fans. Then dancers and back-up vocalists rushed to the stage in various monster costumes, such as demons and vampires.
This song Mira actually hadn't really heard before, as Zoey wouldn't play it too often despite it being catchy. It was also dark and layered with double meaning. Unfolding like a story in three parts, the first verse had Rumi fighting off the monsters. Before the tempo cranked up while Rumi confessed she thinks herself a monster and the guitar stops strumming. Only in the third verse and final chorus to embrace this side of herself as a strength and turn the tide of the fight.
Despite being conveyed through fantasy and magic it hit deep and felt too real.
"Fuck," Mira just stated pained as the song ended.
"Yeah," Zoey replied knowingly.
Every moment of the show was thoughtful and energetic—not to Mira's surprise. Having worked on a few too many school projects with Rumi, she was aware she never did anything halfway.
Always chasing perfection.
Still, she was impressed by her stamina, never missing a note, always hitting her mark. Every dance move was completed with poise and even the most minute detail of the show had meaning. Mira was completely captivated in everything she was seeing, not wanting to miss a second, wishing for this night to ever end.
Then, forty-five minutes into the show, Rumi quickly waved before disappearing in a cloud of pink mist. Mira’s eyes searched for her, but it was clear she wasn't on stage anymore. Mira couldn't deny she was eagerly anticipating her return. She and Zoey stayed put while others made a rush to the bathroom or the bar.
"Oh, costume change," Zoey sang excitedly.
"Right," Mira said, her eyes on the stage, watching as only one dancer remained and soft melody played.
"Wow, and I thought I was bad," Zoey chuckled.
Mira’s cheeks flushed red slightly and she met Zoey’s eyes "Thank you."
"For what?"
"For taking me here tonight. This is amazing," Mira said. The words didn't seem enough because it wasn't just the show that was good; Mira felt like she was finally embracing a part of her past, part of herself that she had been avoiding, even afraid to delve into a little.
It was healing and relieving to know she could finally let go.
Mira let out a deep breath she didn't know she'd been holding.
Zoey didn't say anything in response, but she gripped Mira's waist, pressing into her and craning her neck until she met her lips. She captured her mouth in a sweet kiss that said all Mira needed to know, that Zoey loved how much Mira enjoyed the show, that Zoey was feeling the same joy she was. Pulling apart before they got carried away, they just held each other for a moment before the lights changed to red all around the stadium.
Mira's heart jumped when Rumi literally sprung up from under the stage barely five minutes after she vanished in a tight flighted sparkling dress with lavender stripes that shimmered. Just as her heels touched the stage, she started singing an upbeat tune that everyone but Mira seemed to know all the corresponding dance moves to.
While Mira had been swiping past the constant stream of Tik Tok videos highlighting the dance moves of the popular song, everyone else had been watching, practicing. However, being a professional dancer made it easy for Mira to catch up. After watching it once, she was able to easily join in and couldn't deny how much she loved being a part of it.
Tens of thousands of people, strangers from all over the country—the world, even.
All as one force.
Mira loved moving with the energy of the live crowd.
The feel of the base thumping through her chest.
Singing her heart out.
Zoey seized her arm suddenly, pulling Mira down so her ear was closer to Zoey's mouth. "Would you hate it if I said I wanted Rumi to step on me?" her girlfriend asked.
Mira laughed, almost dizzy at the thought.
"Only if her next step isn't on me," Mira deadpanned before smirking. "Did you see her arms? I didn't realise Rumi was so buff now," she swallowed, thinking about Rumi's toned arms and the sliver of abs they could see between where her shorts ended before her shirt began on her first outfit.
"Oh yeah, she is gym girl, and she has the best carb loaded recipes on her Insta for her pre-show meals,"
"You really are a big fan," Mira chuckled, amused, "Is that where you have been pulling all your recipes from lately?"
"Maybe." Zoey grinned.
The night started to blow by too quickly and Mira had long ago emptied her water bottle. With so much singing her mouth and throat was dry. Sweat dripped down her forehead, so she was relieved when a light shower of water began falling over the stage and drifting onto the crowd.
Dancers delicately placed their hands on Rumi and slowly pulled off sections of the dress. Underneath was a bodysuit, with the stripes now a vibrant purple.
"What now?" Mira asked eagerly.
"Oh you're going to love this part," Zoey said. With her arm around Mira's waist she began skimming her nails along Mira's thigh.
"Zoey?" Mira said as her pupils blew wide at the touch.
Rumi sighed into the microphone, a sound that rolled off the tongue and dissolved into a pleased hum that didn't leave any room for interpretation.
That was the only sound for a moment before the drums and bass kicked in with a fast and playful beat. A platform rose up just in front of Mira with Rumi at the centre, hand on the back of a chair with dancers and their own chairs at either side.
"I'm everyone's type," Rumi's voice was low, like a playful whisper laced with confidence.
Rumi began to sing while strutting around the chair in perfect sync with the other dancers.
Stopping and twirling the chair on one leg before it was slammed back down.
Bending her knees with fierce eyes that almost looked golden in this light.
A tease—just as their thighs touched the chair, she stood up.
Gripping the back of the chair before flipping the chair around over their heads and slamming it back down splashed the water into the air.
Mira gulped.
The lyrics weren't skirting the line; they were very clear in intent while staying fun and light. But for once Mira wasn't dancing or singing along.
Her chest heaved only able to watch.
With one hand on the back of the chair Rumi eased down over the set, with one leg straight up and arched her back up.
"What kind of show have you taken me to?"
"You love it..." Zoey said, before her face softened. "You do, don't you? Otherwise we can take a break."
"No... unless you need to. I mean, you're not bothered at all?" Mira almost choked out; she wasn't bothered. It was something else flaring in her gut.
"No way, this is fun!" Zoey smiled wide, a smile that reached her eyes. "I wish I could be up there."
"Me too. Except I'd be better; a little more evocative, lose the chairs, let the dancing speak for itself."
“Really? What else?”
“Maybe silks,” Mira suggested coyly.
"Oh, see how earlier she played with her left? Now Rumi's using her right hand because she's ambidextrous."
"I'm aware," Mira deadpanned.
Zoey chuckled, amused, before she let out a frustrated, somewhat pained noise. "Shit," she muttered.
"What?" Mira turned all her attention to Zoey's eyes, scanning her over for signs of injury.
"I need to use the bathroom," Zoey sighed out, as if frustrated by her basic human need. Mira almost chuckled, having warned Zoey about having to hold her bladder when she purchased the extra large frozen cocktail.
"Let’s go," Mira said, already beginning to move her hand around Zoey's to tug her along.
"I can go by myself," Zoey said, her eyes wide with guilt.
"I'm coming with you."
"You'll miss the show."
"I'll be fine. Come on."
"I don't want to miss anything," Zoey whined as Mira tugged her back through the row to the long cement tunnel, the music still loud as ever.
"No line, see? It will be quick," Mira said, rushing forward into the surprisingly spacious unisex bathroom.
"No line because no one else is crazy enough to miss this,"
"Less complaining, more urinating," Mira said while she turned and locked the door.
Another long sigh came through the speakers as the music started to fade out.
"We missed the end," Zoey said as she began to pee.
Standing by the basin Mira caught her reflection and was pleased that despite the non-stop dancing and other activities her hair was mostly still in place and makeup untouched. Zoey was nudging her to the side and washing her hands before Mira even realised she had finished.
"You good?" Mira asked, while the stadium erupted in cheers and the stomping of feet. They could still hear Rumi's voice; in fact it was clearer here with the speaker.
"Perfect," Zoey said, her voice sultry and her eyes looking at Mira like she was something to devour.
Before Mira could speak, Zoey rose up and her lips met her in an intense kiss, that was hungry quickly moving lower her fingers dragging down Mira's back.
"I thought you didn't want to miss the show," Mira gasped out, a little confused.
"I don't, but I want something else more," Zoey said, her eyes squarely on Mira's crotch
Mira chuckled. "Okay, but quick."
Giggling, Zoey crouched down and lifted Mira's skirt up higher so her head could fit under it.
Mira let out a pleased sigh, leaning up against the wall while Zoey slowly kissed and sucked along her upper thigh, all the way up to her underwear. She bit the lace, pulling it back and letting go, causing it to snap back.
Mira let out a small, controlled moan to encourage Zoey and pulled her panties down to her knees, but Zoey's tongue didn't meet her folds as expected. Instead licking along her other thigh. Before Zoey began kissing and sucking, completely lost in her own lust.
“Tease," Mira said, gripping Zoey's hair and shoving her face in-between her thighs. Zoey gasped, but Mira knew she liked it rough, and she fisted her hand in her hair, pulling just a little.
Zoey moaned into her, a clear sign of arousal, and Mira responded by thrusting into her mouth. "Good girl," Mira praised, without even thinking of the effect it would have until she felt Zoey's nails dig into her hips. The touch sent pleasurable shivers through Mira's body. She found herself unable to take her eyes off Zoey, who was straining in order to please Mira.
The pleasure was shooting and visceral.
Mira looked down at Zoey, who angled herself awkwardly, her tongue lapping up the slick like she couldn't get enough of it. Zoey's feet shifted slightly as she repositioned and began sucking her clit, putting everything she had into pleasing Mira as the smell of sex filled in air. Rumi's voice was clear, as if she was in there with them, and for a second Mira imagined she was for a moment, watching them with the same piercing eyes she had on stage.
A tinge of shame seared through Mira at having that thought, wondering how Zoey would feel about it, how Rumi would. She chose to clear it from her mind and give in to how Zoey was making her feel, which wasn't hard. "Zoey? You good?" she asked, cooing slightly.
"Mhmm-hmm," Zoey moaned out, and it was everything to hear her so lost in lust.
"I bet you’re dripping, can feel the wetness down your thighs," Mira taunted.
Then Zoey's hand moved from her hip and a finger entered Mira as Zoey began sucking on her clit feverishly, like she couldn't get enough of the taste of her. "That's my girl," Mira said. This time the praise was purposeful as she slowly and steadily grinded on Zoey's mouth.
"Don't you just love to be used?" Mira crooned.
When Zoey made no sound in response, Mira twisted her hand a little, knowing it would send tiny prickles of pain through her scalp—Zoey loved to be punished. "Mira!" she yelped in response, almost losing her footing. She dug her fingers into Mira's skin while her mouth pushed in closer, using Mira to stop herself from falling to her knees.
As Zoey licked along her clit in patterned strokes, the faint vibrations had Mira shaking as she lost herself in a pleasant fog, the sensations radiating from her core mixed with the base thumping through the walls of the stadium, "Don't stop, almost there," Mira moaned.
The music built up in a crescendo as the warmth in her loins spread through Mira's body and she came, quietly rutting into Zoey's mouth. She must have known Mira had cum, but she only intensified her pursuit, inserting a second finger. Zoey’s mouth never left Mira's clit, sucking and kissing feverishly.
Pleasure started to mingle with pain and Mira grunted, letting go of Zoey's hair, she didn’t seem to care Mira had already orgasmed, humming in satisfaction, she was lost in her own lust now. Or that's what Mira thought, until Zoey stopped briefly pulling back just enough so Mira could see the wicked look in her eyes, "Had enough?" she teased.
"Zoey, wh-" Mira warned.
Giggling, Zoey bent back down, biting Mira's thigh harder than before and then slipping her tongue inside her. The pain mingled with pleasure, tipping her over the edge again, and Mira came harder this time. Unable to bite back her moans, Mira gasped out; Zoey still hadn't stopped, continuing to lick along her folds. Then Mira grabbed her by the hair again and pulled her off. Zoey leant into it, letting Mira take her weight. "You're done," Mira huffed.
“Mhmm- you love it,”
“Brat,” Mira muttered.
Mira hold turned soft and she stroked her hand through Zoey’s hair tenderly, “Lets get cleaned up, before we miss the rest of the show,”
"Oh you’re going to love the next part," Zoey said with a grin. “Rumi’s about to fly.”
They were childhood friends but had a fallout in highschool, it was so bad that it took time for them to reconcile, they got back to being friends but never as close and with (supposedly) zero possibly to be something more.
Rumi has been dating jinu since high school, their relationship started a few months after the fallout, and is (Supposedly) over her crush on Mira.
Mira has been in love with Rumi since they were children and deeply regrets their fight and fallout. She tries to get over it but her omega is a little shit and physically makes her sick every time she tries anything with someone else.
Zoey trying to help her send her to a love guru 100% legit, the guru is Romance that just flirts with her and a pissed off Mira steals a collar. Back in her house she overworks and falls asleep with the collar on.
An alarm wakes her up, she is confused trying to remember how she got there but jumps out of the bed when she sees the clock. Entering the kitchen to grab some fruit to eat because she has no time for cooking, she sees Rumi and a child talking while having breakfast, Rumi smiles and goes to hug her before kissing her, Mira is frozen.
"Here is your lunch, jagiya, see you later"
Mira is still frozen trying to make sense of everything, Rumi's hair is shorter, a wolfcut in place of her braid, her arms are covered in tattoos and she is jacked as hell. The little girl at the table is a damn copy of Mira, down to her scowl and everything.
Mira keeps moving in automatically, she goes to her car (at least that hasn't changed) and quickly concludes she is dreaming and all that incense messed with her head. She decides not to wake up and let the dream follow course.
Her job stays almost the same, she notices the fear and disgust in her coworkers, she is treated professionally but also like a bomb ready to explode at any moment, and that actually is pissing her off more, her Day is over and she ignores the weird looks send to her in her way out.
Driving back home she receives a call apologizing for calling her but the primary contact is not answering, they tell her that her daughter got in fight, she ask for directions and in minutes she is at the principal where her daughter is sitting already sitting with the same scowl as her.
The teacher and principal tell her that her daughter,Hana, punch a boy for no reason, Hana says nothing in her defense but she frowns more.
Mira listens before kneeling so she is looking at daughter eyes, she lets her scent out, the girl eyes are wide surprised before scowling at her but the tension of her shoulders drop slightly ad her nose flares discretely.
"Hana, did that boy do something to you?"
Hana scowls more but shakes her head and mira hums.
"Mrs Ryu I already tol-
Mira raises a hand.
"Did he did something to a friend of yours?"
Hana nods.
"He called Minji a mutt and threw his books in the toilet"
"That's a lie! My son will nev-"
Mira glare is enough to stop the words of the boy's mother, she looks back to her daughter, eyes softening.
"How long has he been bullying Minji?"
"Since the start of the year"
"Did you tell your teacher?"
"Yes but she said it was boys being boys and did nothing"
The teacher triees to speak but her voice vanishes when Mira's anger fill the room, the scent of ashes and smoke dominating everything else before she destroy every single idiot.
"We understand mrs Ryu we make sure everything is resolved as you wish"
Mira nods before picking her daughter up in her arms, she smiles when the girl let out the same embarrassed squeak tha Rumi does.
In the car, the girl is quiet.
"The next weekend I'm going to teach how to throw a good punch"
The girls stares surprised, mira smiles and pet her hair head gently.
"Just don't tell Rumi"
Hana face is red but she cross her arms before glaring at mira who had to bite her lip to not coo at the adorable image.
"I'm not going to lie to Appa"
Mira laughs to drown the purr on her chest that tries to escalate when she hears the confirmation that Rumi is her daughter sire, of course her dream won't have anyone else.
"Fine but you are going to tell her"
Hana pales before nodding resigned.
Mira helps her with her homework before someone knocks on the door, is Miyeong who looks surprised before glaring at her.
Mira is stunned because Miyeong never has shown displeasure towards her.
Before she can speak Hana comes to the door with a backpack. Mira stops her by the shoulder and the girl looks back at her confused.
Mira kneels and gently rubs her wrist around her daughter's face before speaking softly.
"Be nice and obey your grandmothers, ok?"
She says before nuzzling the girl face and kissing her forehead.
The girl looks like she wants to cry but holds back her tears and for the first time smiles at her.
Alone in the house she finishes he work and prepares dinner.
She hears the door open and smiles when Rumi's scent gets to her.
"Mira? You.. made dinner?"
Mira smirks and walks towards the stunned alpha, before hugging her by he shoulders.
"Well you made breakfast, Tiger"
She enjoys seeing the woman swallow nervously, she lets her go before serving a plate of her favorites.
"Everything good with Hana? The school called me but my phone battery was dead and when I called back they just told me it was all resolved"
"Don't worry I take care of it, nobody messes with my pup"
Rumi is silent but nods.
They don't talk but the silence is so different to the last time Mira was with Rumi, there is still some tension but is different.
"Go, prepare yourself and will clean everything here"
Mira is a little confused by the comment and want to protest but she knows that stubborn look so she acquiesces.
Later she finishes drying her hair when Rumi enters the room in just her underwear.
Mira fumbles with her hairdrier before standing nervous and trying to not look at the bulge clearly showing on Rumi's boxers.
She fails.
Rumi frowns confused before sighing.
"If you are tired from work just tell me"
She picks Mira and gently deposits her in the corner of the bed.
"I don't mind preparing you for me"
Mira neurons are trying to connect but they fail when rumi takes out her underwear before diving in like a starved woman.
Mira doesn't want to wake up.
After railing her, Rumi pulls out and tries to leave the bed but Mira whines and holds her hand.
"Stay"
Rumi stares her confused but in her eyes there is the same yearning she had seen in the mirror every day.
Rumi lays back and Mira holds her arms around her, she bites her lip debating but this is her dream and she wants to indulge.
"...can you...put it ...back? please"
She asks timidly while playing with rumi fingers in her stomach.
She hears Rumi gulp before the Alpha comply with her request, she isn't soft anymore and Mira gasp.
"...one more time?" She ask shy.
Rumi groans and hides he face in her back before nodding.
A little longer Mira wants to dream a little longer.

101 Ways to Kill a... certain demon - chapter 28 (out of 101)
Ride and not die... well unless you're a certain demon
Big thanks to @k-kago for the idea and @mrsova for the knowledge and other things for the chapter. 😁
Snippet:
“Jinu just got given a motorcycle.” Mira repeats flatly, dumbstruck and slightly angry. They’re both sitting on Rumi’s bed in their pajamas as they’re about to get ready for bed, “They just gave him a motorcycle.”
“Yeah.” Rumi nods, holding up the paper with the Saja Boy’s lead singer posing with an immaculate looking Triumph Scrambler. She scrunches her nose at the picture, “Why would they give him an old bike?”
“You’re kidding, right?” Mira stares at the photo and then at Rumi, a little offended by that question, “That’s a Triumph Scrambler from 2006, Rumi.”
Rumi just stares at Mira and then shrugs bemused, “So? It’s like twenty years old. Old, Mira.”
