I am going to send someone the most repulsive, hideous, monstrous hex I have ever created. I’m moving on from hex jars and am going to create something so vile that it takes root in her very DNA. It’s more of a curse than a hex. I just have to make sure that I have the time to *thoroughly* clean my apartment afterwards. This will be some of my best work, and I think because of how badly she wronged me, nothing can possibly rebound on me. It’s a balancing of the scales. I don’t share my personal spells, but it will involve a coffin shaped box, a voodoo doll, items connected to her, mirrors, and whatever repulsive shit I can think of, sealed with wax and with a coffin nail driven through it.
This is the altar I made for my dog after he died in July. His ashes are there, and I still haven’t gotten rid of the weeds and flowers I picked on our last walk. I don’t think I ever will. They are just as important as the dried flowers from my wedding day.

Times are troubling and hard right now-but never forget, your Beet loving Grandmother loves you very very much and wants you to be safe.
And for you to eat your vegetables.
Some pages from my grimoire on Samhain

I saw a tiktok recently where a woman said that modern witches, particularly white witches (like her), are too individualistic when it comes to witchcraft and that we are not doing enough to benefit our communities or create communities, that witchcraft should be about more than taking back your own power. I’m not sure how I feel about this. She said, “How are you different from other religions if you’re not benefitting and creating community?” I’d say that the individualism itself is what makes witchcraft different. We don’t have leadership. We don’t indoctrinate. We don’t spread misogynistic, racist, or patriarchal dogma.
I’ve also noticed that when people *do* try to create or join a community, the leadership itself turns it toxic. Every “coven” seems to be run by some woman with dyed black hair who calls herself “Morgana Raven Moon” or something, someone who just wants to be adored. I can’t get behind that. Maybe we do need to create alternatives to that kind of community, because the covens available to us are just zoom meetings of some woman talking at us, from what I can find.
I’ve also taken classes at a local witchcraft store, but I’ve stopped going because the vibes of the shop are off—they seem very dark, and are so deep into “queer theory” that it just doesn’t seem like a safe place for women. Witchcraft itself attracts a lot of weirdos, a lot of problematic people, so joining these groups seems like a risk that just isn’t worth it. I often felt uncomfortable there as a woman and a feminist. I have yet to find a group where I feel comfortable, and people are unmotivated to create their own with me. I do have a lot of friends who practice, but to be honest I don’t even enjoy doing magic as a group. I’d be happy to just have a group of politically aligned witchy women to meet up and chat with, which seems more doable. And I do have that! I throw tea parties and often meet up with feminist friends. My friend just took me to several witchcraft stores in the city the other day, and we learned a lot about each other.
Idk, I’m kind of just rambling at this point. I would love to hear other women’s thoughts on this. Is witchcraft too individualistic? Or is it a good thing to have a spiritual practice that does not have to be organized or involve other people? Are we selfish if we treat magic as a way to take our own power rather than distributing it? Are we treating our spirituality as capitalistic by focusing on the individual rather than the collective?

I cried a lot yesterday so Lughnasadh was today for me. Mostly just decorated my altar, incorporated sunflowers into my home and outfit, and went to the art store to cheer myself up (I love it there)
I had to work for a few hours but I did what I could and I’m feeling a lot more calm. Looking forward to my birthday party this weekend at least! I can’t wait to see all of my friends. Now we’re gonna eat some strawberries and whipped cream. 💖

Mini-Spells
To weigh a person down, take a picture of them, write their full name and birth date on the back of it. On the front, write a petition calling for them to be weighed down, broken, hopeless and forlorn. On a tuesday, during the night, bury the photo head downwards and place a heavy stone on it saying: The burden's place, its on your shoulders. So long as this rock stays on this dirt, so too shall the rock of bane stand on your shoulders. So mote it be.
To cause someone to drown in misery, feel hopeless or lost, take a photo of them, write their full name on the back and on the front the petition, fold it a few times away from you. FInd a good rock of decent size and bind the picture to it with black thread. Wrap it in a small rag and bind it again with black thread. If desired, run it through incense made of parsley while saying a prayer against the person (one can say a prayer of the Reversed Lord's Prayer). After that, throw it into a river or stagnant water, letting it sink to the bottom. Give an offering of a coin to the spirits of the river.
To remove a spell. On a saturday evening, take a stone and hold it in your left hand. Say a prayer or incantation asking for the spell upon you to be removed. Take the stone and rub it over you from the top of your head, across your arms, down your feet and back up to the top of your head. Thereafter, place it in a bowl underneath the bed for the night. On a sunday morning, as the sun is rising, place the stone at a crossroads far away from the home, giving a coin, drink or sweet to the spirit of the Crossroads.
Wash the hands in chamomile tea to bring good luck in business ventures, gambling and all forms of financial work.
Wash the altar in jasmine tea to attract wise and helpful spirits, so too can you cover candles in olive oil and jasmine (taken from a teabag if the flowers are not available) or burn it as an incense during meditations. It can also be used as a bath prior to spiritual work or divination.
Use mint or basil leaves to asperge for attracting wealth and blessings, basil leaves to ward off ghosts and malefica, chamomile or lavender for peace and curse breaking, an oak branch for protection, good fortune and strength, a rose for love, harmony and peace, a red rose over the bed to attract a lover, rue for exorcisms and cleansings.
Place a clove of garlic in the four corners of the home to protect against unwanted spirits and harm.
Rub protection oil on the doorknob of the front door for protection against thieves, intruders, people with harmful intent and so on.
To make a person blind to you, or to afflict them with the evil eye, stab a needle into their eyes on their photo. To silence them, sew the mouth shut.
Black Pepper, Salt and Mother-in-Law make a fricking good combination for hexing - especially when you want to cause irritation, annoyance and conflict... tried and true.
They taught me that Jesus came to earth in a human vessel, that he therefore understands our struggles and suffering, but Jesus was never sent to a menstrual hut. Jesus was never denied education based on his sex. He never experienced the fear of the possibility of rape, and then of watching his rapists pay his father the right amount of money to keep him, a slave for the rest of his life. He starved himself in adulthood to feel holy, not in childhood to feel beautiful. When Jesus took on the role of a servant it was a choice, not something chosen for him by his society that forced him to be second to someone else for every second of his entire life. Jesus did not experience what it is like to be a human. He experienced what it was like to be a man. If you think the execution of Jesus when he claimed to be god was brutal, imagine if that claim had come out of the lips of a woman.

Protective Oil Against Another Witch's Spells
This oil can be used in sachets, on candles, on windows and thresholds to create a barrier of protection and forcefully repels any baneful energies thrown at you.
You will need:
Nettle - Nettle is excellent in protection and warding against baneful energies and spirits.
Whole Cloves - Cloves can be used in domination and protection, to dominate any energies sent towards you and forcefully repels energies.
Juniper Berries - Juniper is an excellent protective herb to create a shield and repel any evil and entities.
Dried Wasp Nests - Wasp nests are excellent for protection as they provide protection and shelter to wasps who are ruthless and powerful.
Black Salt - Black salt is a great compound which brings protection and repels hexes and baneful energies.
Cayenne Pepper - A great spice for protection and a spice to represent force and drive.
Dried Chilies - Another great herb for protection and breaking any remnants of negative energies that may have stayed. You want all the negative energies to STAY OUT!
Sandalwood Resin - A good resin for protection and exorcism. To repel and force the energies that are sent towards you to be expelled and sent back to where they have originated from.
Asafetida Powder - This shit burns the nostrils!!! Be SUPER careful when handling cause it smells so bad and can burn your nostrils. This spice is good for protection and good for breaking hexes, curses, magical workings.
A carrier Oil - Grapeseed, Olive, Jojoba, Safflower, Etc
Directions:
Charge and bless your items and into the jar they go.
Add your oil into the jar and recite the following
"Shatter, Platter, Pitter, Bound, wicked workings return to the caster's ground. Hexes, Curses, spells of negativity, return to where they came, banished be."
Add your oil, shake the jar and let it brew in a dark dry place for a couple months (I do around 2-3 months.) Shake jar every day or 4 times a week.
DO NOT PLACE THIS OIL ON SKIN AS IT MAY CAUSE IRRITATIONS AND BURNS.
Hi there, do you have any tips/advice for young women who are starting to explore witchcraft/wicca?
Everyone is going to tell you to read everything you can get your hands on, but the single most useful book I own is an encyclopedia type book about the metaphysical properties of herbs and plants, many of which you can get in a grocery store (I found the book in a free box too). When I first built my altar, it was basically bare except for some candles and a little incense dish where I burned herbs. When you have a solid understanding of herbs and start building your collection, you can do a lot. You can use them in almost any spell as long as you have the right ones. If you have a collection of fifteen different herbs, you could probably do almost any spell that you might need for everyday life.
I’ve also found that spells that I craft myself are far more powerful. Familiarize yourself with the components. I mentioned herbs but there’s also the phases of the moon, the best day of the week for a certain spell, color correspondences for candles (you can make up your own—you do not need to follow someone else’s), and the actual writing of the spell (if you have ever been good at writing poetry it comes fairly naturally. I do like mine to rhyme but they don’t have to.) There are a lot of spell books out there but I’ve gotten to the point that I don’t use mine anymore because I feel that a spell that only I have used is more powerful than something widely published and used by many.
Shadow work, to become comfortable of the aspects of yourself or your past that are hard to accept. Shadow work could be journaling (lots of prompts online specifically for this purpose) or even just therapy if you’re into that. I think a lot of us turn to witchcraft as a way to heal as well as to affect our surroundings. So heal! Tarot cards are good for this too as they can make us examine different aspects of our life, or make us see a situation differently.
Keep detailed records of your spells so you can reference them later. I’ve actually found that a binder works great for a grimoire because you can move pages around, take them in and out, etc. For me it was difficult to use a big leather book because I was scared of messing up, didn’t know how many pages to allocate to each section, etc. I still make my pages aesthetically pleasing and if you don’t want to hole punch them you can always slide them into a plastic sleeve and put them in the binder that way. It’s been a game changer for me, not gonna lie. Especially as someone with ADHD, it’s been dope. Mine has a section for general information, a section for spells and rituals, and a section where I discuss the results of the spell if I feel it’s important.
Do not fall into a toxic positivity mindset or learn from those who have. The world is not “love and light” and as individual humans, neither are we. Whether we are spiritual people or not, we are driven by ego. Maybe a Buddhist monk somewhere has transcended (maybe), but we have not and never will. Witchcraft *is* about power and about manipulating our surroundings with our intent. I’m not saying you have to hex people (although you can), but when we put our intent out into the world, even if not for personal gain, it can always have unintended consequences on the universe or another individual. (As an example, if you do a job spell or a housing spell, we live in a capitalistic society—when you take that job or apartment for yourself, you are taking it from someone else.) Witchcraft generally is for personal gain, and we don’t need to pretend it’s not, because taking our power is not a negative act.
The idea that a deity has to “reach out” to you is just not true. They’re generally not going to reach out if you have done nothing to grab their attention in the first place. If you are interested in one, just go for it. I believe that each deity is simply one aspect of the divine, so just pick an aspect even, and see which deity resonates.
Hope this helps! 🕯
