Like Annalise Keating’s bisexuality is still not highlighted by anyone apart from black people. Whether you watch the show or not isn’t the issue, but it’s telling that a dark-skinned middle aged bi woman struggling with comp-het won’t get a ton of recognition on Tumblr. So when y’all non-blacks go on about “Oh well Kat from the Bold Type is revolutionary because she’s black and questioning, that’s NEVER happened before,” I’m gonna give you a little side eye.
So I started watching this Japanese dating show on Netflix called Rea(L)ove, where every contestant is looking for love and each has a “dark secret” that they have to reveal to the other contestants at random times, and hope that the others still accept them. Some are addicted to sex, some have a lot of debt, some have a criminal record and so on. So there is this one girl who likes one of the guys despite him being rude at times, and he choosesto go on a solo date with her. Towards the end of their date, the hosts make her share her secret with him, and it goes as follows:
he had an almost speechless and shocked response, he didn’t say anything negative or positive really, just the two hosts kept laughing and saying very rude remarks. The scene just kind of ended with them walking away and then their individual thoughts on the date that pretty much boiled down to:
and
So the next day, the girls, this time, get to choose a guy to go on a date with…
WILL HE????
HE DID!
So now, on the date—–
Sorry for the long post, but this was one of the sweetest things I’ve seen in a long time, and I was literally crying and just needed to share this with someone
SPOILER ALERT: THEY CHOSE EACH OTHER AT THE END!!!!!!!!
Me:
((see my other post for his heartbreaking dark secret))

$20 used to mean something
the thing that sucks is that people love saying sleep early is good etc etc and yeah it is. I've seen some benefits before. but I think it sucks to ignore that late night is the only time with any freedom. I think it sucks to not acknowledge the dread in waking up and it's a work day again
Something new and uncomfortable to me is asking myself if I am enjoying my life or not? Do I believe in the sacrifices I’m making? Am I adequately heard and held and understood within the life I’m in? Do I find worth it the problems routinely presented to me when I live life in this way? What needs to change? And it’s so scary and difficult and overwhelming
Part of accepting yourself completely is reframing your mind to make it about you, so that “will they like me?” turns into “will I like them?” and “did they like what I said?” turns into “did I say everything I wanted to say?” Everything you do should ultimately be brought on by what you think is important and by what you want. Not by what you think will be most accepted or most liked.

the most infuriating thing about personal growth is that even if someone else did have the answer you needed and conveyed it to you in a precise and effective matter, it won't make sense until you're ready for it. you could hear it every day of your life and it wouldn't matter a fucking bit until it finally clicks. there's very little you can do to influence when that happens, either
when i have a crush i dont kick my feet or twirl my hair instead i am in my kitchen at 3am pacing in circles with my hands clasped behind my back like a middle-aged divorced detective haunted by a cold case he just cant crack
