I tried Dirt Rally 2.0 on PC years back and downloaded the demo on ps5 recently so I could give it a second try (yeah it's the same steering wheel and the same game, but playing wheel games on playstation is a lot more comfortable in my apartment + it runs better) but I kinda hate it lol

doesn't feel good, the english navigator sucks (there's a brazilian one tho and he's good), and I don't care enough about the rally sport to really understand why I'd rather just not buy those

I finally got one of those Bburago 1/64 scale F1 miniatures, they're exactly the same size as the hot wheels toys, but much lighter as they are pretty much just plastic where hot wheels are made of metal

it's so so so light I swear this thing would be terrible in a hot wheels track. but at least it's the only other 1/64 car that actually goes forward and backward smoothly, like a toy car should!

the paintjob is predictably not fantastic, but I'm a fan of the texturing on the carbon fiber. I also noticed the side mirrors and rear wheels look a lot more like they're separate parts of the car and not just all a big piece, when compared to the hot wheels

god DAMN this thing is dusty. I'm a terrible person. you see what I mean though

I answer this sort of question a lot I don't know if anyone ever tries these when I do but like

I think R4 Ridge Racer Type 4 (PS1/PS4/PS5) is a great starting point to gauge what you're invested in bc it's a straightforward, short game with good graphics and visuals, where the gameplay is a bit intimidating at first but very fast to learn more and more as you keep trying, it's good for building fundamentals yknow

there's too many different types of racing game where elaborating too much would do more harm than good, I think it's worth it to just pick what looks cool to you personally, maybe there's a type of racing category you think sounds cool irl, try games based on it, try the most popular racing games in your platform or emulator of choice, try that obscure racing game that you only know of because of the OST, try a random game you see in my backlogg page idk
