After a countdown, much waiting, and hype, Atlus held their Persona 5 livestream this morning and revealed tons of info about the upcoming RPG.
One of the biggest announcements at the live event was a Japanese release date for the game. P5 is set to release for PS3 and PS4 on September 15th, a mere 15 days before another big JRPG title, Final Fantasy XV. Other big announcements made include an art book, anniversary soundtrack set, and confirmed DLC costumes for the Persona 5 cast that dress them up to look like students from Gekkoukan or Yasogami High from Persona 3 and 4 respectively.
Also noteworthy, Atlus confirmed Persona 5: The Animation – The Day Breakers, an anime feature to air before the game in Japan as a prequel to the events in the game much akin to Final Fantasy XV: Brotherhood.
Unfortunately there’s still no word on a release date outside Japan; but, it’s safe to assume that if Atlus is going to announce it, E3 2016 will be when it happens.
