I wonder if its an inside joke ? I remember in early s10 Scar would make jokes abt.... Something abt his brother going to the gym i think, or taking sweaty photos, and Grian would laugh way too hard and tell him to stop. These things won't make sense to us outsiders.

When i talk abt pervert Scar i mostly mean he's just more dirty minded than people think, so he makes jokes like "thats what she said" or plays up the stupid fish noise thing (good macaroni)

Or, he just flirts heavier with Grian, gets in his space, makes comments, but he knows the limit, don't wanna tick off his only company ! and ex boyfriend he still has feelings for !!

When it comes to Watchers--or Shadow people Scar calls them, he refers to them as friends, but they never talk. So Scar talks to himself, which is sometimes saying dirty stuff out loud and laughing abt it like 'yeah you guys get it right ? yeah.'

Sometimes he'll also loudly announce when he's taking a bath or changing, he doesn't actually know if hes being Watched, so he'll say 'you can watch if you want ! But i'm just letting you know ! I guess ! if you wanna not look, at my.. really great calves..' he knows hes hot sure, but hes somewhat trying to get a reaction, out-freak them.

But for Watchers, this is no different than watching your cat clean itself. They see themselves as above players, so they're like. ok ? and maybe leave him alone briefly. or watch. whatever. Grian however, would have a reaction, its how Scar could pick him out a Watcher crowd, Grian can't help but get embarrassed and yell at him.

Even if Scar directly flirted with a Watcher, they'd stare at him. Maybe just think of him as a charmer, something interesting.

i also agree, i also like seeing stocky Grian ! I just think it sucks when people say you HAVE to draw him like the real guy, or you're a bad person ? Like that framing gives me the ick immediately <- ocd haver

i also have only ever seen people complain abt "twink" in regards to just skinny characters, even outside the fandom and not at all fem, i have people comment on my drawings calling Mumbo a twink--who is not at all fem, he even has facial hair ? So i can't tell if its an insult or not. I've seen people call ddvau Grian a twink in a negative way too, i don't think that character is even cis adjgkjkad if i recall, twink was originally abt hairless and skinny looking guys ("Otter" is if you're hairy), i dont know where the fem part comes from unless people are assuming hairless and skinny = fem, and then in turn, think its a bad thing ?

(and of course this isn't me trying to be like "skinny shaming is real too !" bc i am aware enough to know they're not at all comparable, and not my point..)

I think the word people are ACTUALLY looking for is "uke", but i have... never seen that outside of a few explicit AO3 stories lol, so like... its expected there rly and not something to complain abt on main.

A lot of discourse is somewhat too online, its very "let men be masculine" and then getting upset at queer people for being into ~hetero~ dynamics like ~Height Differences and ~Body size differences. As if in real life its not common for Twinks to like Bears, or Butches and Femmes to like each other or have prefs for that ? Its not heteronormative. A lot of us don't even live in areas where its safe to express these things, so it goes online instead. I think a lot of the online (americain) queer community forgets this. Of course theres always room for the argument of fetishizing and things like that, but its almost always queer people themselves creating this dynamic in ship art, which i think is pretty important context.

Mostly, it feels like people are pretending to be progressive by putting down other people, or just repeating things they don't fully grasp for moot points, and by accidentally being homophobic and misogynistic.

overall, i get it ? i understand where people are coming from, but the accusatory language and poor politics to justify it is a bit much.

I personally remember them having that break up with Scott and then Scott Drift Shelby and Cam being removed from sbk. Which fits exactly with the "made up lies about bigger youtubers to isolate the sbk players".

Then at vidcon all this youtuber started talking and those lies fell apart, screenshot were shared of Avid shit talking the other sbk players behind their backs to eachother and the truth was found out. Then Avid and Marm panicked and tried to run off the platform to escape the consequences which is why they quit.
