Don't laugh at people or mock people who are "childish". People are allowed to like things that are considered "childish". Toys, kids cartoons, anything like that can be a valuable source of comfort for the people who like them. It's important to have things in life that make you happy, and without them it gets miserable. Wether that thing is stuffed animals or cooking or writing lyrics, what's important is that others don't ridicule and belittle them for it. There shouldn't be such judgement for the things that make people happy.

author's note: (guess who is hyping herself up to go for a fun run tomorrow) (will update on how it went)
Munchkin knew she had to work out. She knew that it was the first step to feeling like herself again.
She just didn't know where to start.
The overachiever in her felt like she had to run a half marathon or go to the olympics for her debut, and that was exactly why, since the team got back from their last mission she had been laying in bed, watching tv, and not really taking care of herself.
To an outsider, this was silly, munchkin had finished the last mission with flying colors, and prior to it she was really doing well, she was taking care of herself, journaling, letting herself feel, going outside, eating foods that nourished her, and she had even begun to grow her nails after months of biting.
And then the post-mission fatigue hit. This was normal, most avengers experienced it one way or another, they stayed in their rooms and hibernated for a few days before returning back to normal. She never judged the rest of the avengers for this, but she judged herself. And since she had been "off" for longer than she expected (given that she busted her butt on the mission, this was normal) she felt like it was "no use" getting back to her good habits since it wouldn't be "perfect."
Munchkin had a complicated relationship with food and exercise, the kind of relationship that takes daily effort for her to treat herself kindly, and mostly, she did so well, it had been a while since her body image issues flared up, and when they did, she handled it with grace, feeling her feelings before punishing herself for no reason. She enjoyed exercise for fun, and focused more on what her body could do instead of how her body looked.
Steve and Bucky knew this, and they were always so proud of their little girl for choosing her well-being despite it often being the hard choice for her. They were the most supportive carers and she felt so safe with them.
And that was why they knew that it was time to get their baby moving, just a little, because they knew that when she stayed still for too long, her head got the best of her, it was the little push she needed to get back into feeling good, the only problem was, since she was at a low point, she had been little, for a while now, and that had helped her stay afloat, but they had never had this situation on their hands before.
After talking it out, they decided on making the workout session fun for her, munchkin was the kind of little who loved structure, so they needed to have a plan. Steve was going to handle the training first thing in the morning, Bucky was going to handle the self-care afterwards.
The night before was when the plan started.
As munchkin did her skincare, Steve went for it.
"You know princess, Daddy has a very special game planned for you and him tomorrow morning, so we need to pick out your outfit" he knew his girl, and she couldn't say no if a cute outfit was involved "What kind of game Daddy?" he knew she'd ask that, but he had to build the excitement up "that's a surprise bug, but we can choose your favorite moving outfit for it" he saw her eyes light up, when she finished her skincare she sprinted to her drawers, and there it was, in all its glory, her pink matching workout set, she got it out, along with her forgotten (pink) trainers, steve caught up with her, and when she was all ready, he picked her up and took her to the bed, where bucky was already in, she snuggled her beloved carers and fell into an excited slumber.
When the alarm rang, she nudged Steve awake "Daddy, daddy, it's time let's go playyyyy", the super soldier snuggled with his little for a bit more, bid a sleeping Bucky farewell (he got a kiss on the cheek from Munchkin!) and went to make breakfast while a very excited (and particularly independent) munchkin got dressed, put her hair in pigtails, they had some fruit with granola, and off they went.
If there was something Munchkin loved was music, every avenger knew this, she'd always be humming or singing a song, never left home without her headphones and yearned for long car rides so she could just sit and listen to music. Steve knew this, and the night before (with some help from Tony) he had crafted the perfect playlist, full of Disney musical songs (Munchkin loved musicals, big or small, when she was small, Disney took over) in a specific order, he had also gotten his and her headphones synced to the same phone, so they would listen together.
It was so early that the streets were practically deserted, they did some warm-up stretches (or as Steve told his little one, fun dance moves!) and walked together to the park, Steve made sure she held his hand when crossing the street!
"Now dove, the game rules are as follows" he handed her her headphones, "we will run for one song, then walk for the next one, got it?" she nodded "and your challenge is to find one thing for each color of the rainbow on the way, and after we finish you tell me what you find" she started squirming of excitement "we're only gonna run around the park, and Daddy will run right behind you, if you start feeling sick, you let me know, the idea is to have fun, you win if you have fun, so take it easy, got it?" "Yes daddyyyy can we go now????" Munchkin said, jumping up and down, ready to go, Steve started the playlist and off they went.
Munchkin was a bit tired during the first song, so she was glad when the walking song came on, she spotted some pink flowers, which made her really happy, and as the game went on, she slowly but surely got into a rhytm and started feeling that runner's joy she almost forgot existed, when the playlist came to an end, Steve picked her up and praised her "You did so well my angel, how do you feel?" "I feel so awake Daddy! So happy! I want to jump and do things and play!"
They did some cool down stretches and walked home, she told him all about the things she saw, her favorite songs, and as Steve held her hand and walked with her he was so happy to see his little sunshine was back.
All she needed to love herself again was a little push from the people who loved her the most.

I have to remind myself a bunch about this. Right now i have taken a break from age dreaming (fuzzy but use that term more with age(d)re stuff)
I have been taught from a young bio kid age that i have to be the one that comforts myself and others. Not only this but to be independent and not asking for help, even when i should. Plus a bunch of trauma which is why i have stopped age dreaming. It became "negative" and honestly unhealthy for me to do. In my journey with therapy and healing my inner child i would end up in these depressive fit states where i would become a small child again (age dreaming wise) and go back mentally to those negative thoughts when i was a bio teen/kid. It wasnt okay for me to do so. I went back to the actions and words i would use when i was that age (again very blurred).. As i have learned more about myself the more i have realized that i do need to heal my inner child, be it regression or not, but i shouldnt end up in harmful states that make me think my progress isnt actually occuring.
Disclaimer: this is not everyones case but my own!
I will try to be more aware of my agedre state and have asked a friend (or two) to maybe assist in this redirection of my age dreaming journey.
This is to share if anyone else has ever felt this way or might feel their regression is becoming something they didnt anticipate it to be. It happens, but what we do to combat this. Again, occasional trantrums and such are OKAY! It will happen. My case is that all of my dreaming state was super negative and wasnt helpful or healthy for ME.
To obtain this goal i am going to start small. Coloring here or there, moodboards when i feel like it. Using gear when i so please even if i dont feel "small" in any capacity.
yknow. i really appreciate ryan gosling's commitment to keeping the canon Grace reaction of just fucking crying the entire time. it's in character, and it's like, an extremely realistic reaction to the situation at hand. But. from most actor's ive heard (both irl friends and interviews from professionals) have bemoaned crying scenes in film, because it can be very draining and give you a splitting headache to do multiple takes etc etc. So they could have dialed it back and saved the tears for the more poignant moments. but no. they clearly went fuck it, we're committing. Grace is a Crier. here. have him crying in happiness, sadness, despair, terror, relief, disbelief, overwhelming joy. Have some heaving sobs. have some single tears. oohhh this man is gonna Cry about it.
hey y'all, munchkin here, just lyk that im not really active here anymore, regression will always be very special to me, but I don't really regress all that much anymore (I still get needy and emotional, but not regression) it was definitely the key in allowing myself to feel and to manage my big feelings and recover from my ED, and i will always love it and cherish it, it's just not my main coping mechanism anymore
To any regressors reading this, keep it up, it really is a healing thing (if u can tell a therapist ab it though, to help u out) and if one day you find yourself not doing it as much like i have, don't be afraid, agere did its thing and it will always be that magical special memory you created
inner child healing is a never-ending thing, but the way we heal it changes as we grow, and so do our coping mechanisms
Before i go i want to leave y'all with some words from my therapist about agere and coping mechanisms
- Don't let it be your only coping mechanism, it can guide you to other ones (god knows that exercising while being kind to myself and my body would not have been possible without me being kind to myself, which i learned bc of agere) and you don't have to "leave" it but you need variety, otherwise if one day you're unable to do it, it won't be good
- If you have children in your life (siblings, niblings, cousins, etc) be the adult you wished you had when you were a kid, I am my lil cousins' safe person because I listen to their problems and i don't minimize them like grown ups did when i was a kid
- Always keep in touch with your inner child, I lovr watching disney movies and it's sort of like little me and big me have become one now, no one "takes over" they just cohabitate and mutually take care of each other (if that makes sense?) whimsy is healing
- But don't let childish behaviors rule your life, sometimes we don't wanna do things that are good for us, sometimes we have to say sorry and sometimes we're wrong, even if your first impulse is to avoid all this, remember that you're a good person, and one capable of beinga. grown-up when you need to, in a way this is also big you taking care of little you
Also, i know a lot of y'all are young and often lonely (i was there too) and i'll tell you that, you'll find your people, you'll find your chosen family, just be kind to yourself and others, and things will work themselves out
I won't deactivate the acc bc ik some of y'all read my fics, and god knows there aren't enough fics for regressors
So farewell, and thank you, little and big me are one and i'm happier than ever
to anyone reading this,
it gets better, i promise
edit: i recently came back to agere lol, but im chronically offline now so, i wont really be here as much, the blog's still open tho
my best tip for anyone trying to get back into reading is to remember that you can read books to avoid other responsibilities in ur life and it can become a vice if you play your cards right

Any rational person wouldâve seen it by nowâseen that you wanted to push him away. That no matter what he said, youâd find a way to prove him wrong.
But he wasnât a rational man when it came to you.
No, when it came to you, Steve Rogers was stubborn. Desperate, even.
Because he knew what it looked like when someone wanted to be saved.
And he knew what it looked like when someone didnât believe they could be.
An Unfinished Battle
It had been two weeks since that conversation.
Two weeks of you keeping him at armâs length, of acting like his words hadnât meant anything.
He was used to people needing time. He wasnât used to feeling this helpless.
But it was still thereâthe weight of your words, the way you had looked at him, like he was offering something you werenât sure you could accept.
Like maybe, just maybe, a part of you wanted to.
And that was enough to keep him from walking away.
The Breaking Point
It happened on a mission.
SHIELD had intel on a facility experimenting on enhanced individuals, and you were on the team sent to shut it down.
Things went southâfast.
You had always fought like you had nothing to lose, but today, it was different. Reckless. Almost like you didnât care if you made it out.
Steve saw it.
And it terrified him.
So when the dust settled, when the mission was over and the team was safe, Steve didnât waste a second.
âWhat the hell was that?â His voice was sharp, cutting through the quiet of the debriefing room where you were peeling off your gloves like nothing had happened.
You barely spared him a glance. âThe missionâs done, Rogers. Relax.â
His jaw tightened. âThatâs not what Iâm talking about, and you know it.â
You sighed, tossing your gloves onto the table before finally meeting his eyes. âI did what I had to do.â
âNo,â he snapped. âYou did what you always do. You acted like your life doesnât matter.â
Something flickered in your expressionâsomething brief, but Steve caught it before you shut it down.
He took a step closer. âYou think no one notices, but I do. I see you.â
âSteveââ
âI see the way you put yourself in the line of fire like it doesnât matter if you make it out. I see the way you look at yourself, like youâre already gone.â His voice softened, but there was no less urgency in it. âI canât stand watching you do this to yourself.â
You clenched your jaw, looking away. âI donât need a savior, Steve.â
He exhaled sharply. âMaybe not. But you sure as hell need someone who gives a damn.â
Silence.
Then, after a momentâ
âThatâs the problem, isnât it?â Your voice was quiet. Cold. âYou do care. And you shouldnât.â
Steve took a step closer. âWhy not?â
You finally met his eyes again, and this time, he could see it. The exhaustion. The frustration. The fear, buried so deep you probably didnât even know it was there.
âBecause if you knew the kind of person I really am, you wouldnât.â
His expression didnât waver.
âTry me.â
The words hung between you like a challenge.
But you just shook your head, a humorless smile curving your lips.
âYou really are too good for this world, Rogers.â
And with that, you turned and walked away, leaving him standing there, fists clenched, heart aching.
Steve Rogers had always believed in the good in people.
It was what made him who he wasâthe unwavering belief that even in the darkest places, there was light. But youâyou were the one person who tested that belief.
Because you didnât see yourself the way he did.
You saw yourself as cruel. As broken. As someone who had done too many things that couldnât be undone, things that left scars deeper than anyone could see. You werenât a heroânot in the way he was. Maybe not at all.
And yet, Steve loved you.
Desperately.
He wasnât sure when it started, this need for you. Maybe it was the first time he saw you in the middle of a fight, eyes burning with a rage that didnât come from malice, but from something worse. Something that looked too much like self-destruction.
Maybe it was the first time you saved him without thinkingâstanding between him and a bullet like your life didnât matter as much as his.
Maybe it was the way you never saw yourself as good, no matter how many times you chose to be.
And Steve couldnât stand it.
Couldnât stand the way you looked at yourself like you were something tainted, something wrong.
âYouâre not the villain you think you are,â he told you once.
You had just stared at him. And then you laughed, sharp and bitter. âYou donât know me, Rogers.â
But he did.
He knew the way your hands shook when you thought no one was looking. He knew the way your eyes softened in the rare moments you let your guard down. He knew how much it hurt you when people assumed the worst, and how you let themâbecause it was easier than trying to be something you werenât sure you could be.
And still, you pushed him away.
Still, you refused to see what he saw.
One night, after a mission that went too wrong too fast, Steve found you sitting alone, staring at your hands like they werenât yours. Blood stained your knucklesânot your own.
You had saved lives today. But all you could see was the wreckage.
âLet me help you,â he said softly, sitting beside you.
You didnât look at him. âThereâs nothing to help, Steve.â
He exhaled, running a hand through his hair. âWhy do you do that?â
âDo what?â
âAct like youâre past saving.â
That made you laugh. âBecause I am.â
Steve turned to face you, and this time, he didnât let you look away. âNo. Youâre not.â
You sighed, shaking your head. âYou donât get it. You never will. Youâre good, Steve. You always have been. You donât know what itâs like to make the choices I have. To live with them.â
His jaw clenched. âThatâs not true.â
You scoffed. âOh, come on, Rogers. You think you love me? You donât even know me. You love some idea of me that doesnât exist.â
That hurt. But Steve didnât flinch.
âI love you,â he said, voice steady. âNot some idea of you. You.â
You finally looked at him then, eyes searching his like you wanted to believe him, like you almost did.
But then you pulled back.
âYou shouldnât.â
Steve clenched his fists. âAnd why not?â
âBecause people like me donât get to have people like you.â
His heart ached. Because even now, you still thought you werenât worthy.
