obi-wan having a tragic past doesn’t interest me. maybe it’s just me but I just don’t like the idea of obi-wan having a similar ( eh ) background to Anakin . I think it makes more sense for his character to have been more normal and privileged (?) life and where the only time he’s ever gone through anything is when qui-gon died.

#i didn't watch the show but you know what #it's very interesting that this duel happened when you consider how maul killed qui-gon in cold blood #someone anakin held very dear to his heart for showing him kindness #and who he was prepared to consider a father figure of sorts #the master he should've trained under #i want to think that at least some of this was explored during the episode #but i'm willing to bet that all they had vader do was be silent and aura farm #if so… that would be disappointing… but not a surprise (via @yanna-writes)
