the most annoying take has to be that anidala directly caused everything to happened. It’s just blatantly disregarding palpatine orchestrating the rise of the empire and that it was already corrupted even before anakin was in picture.
all I'm saying is that if the fandom can woobify canonical moderate jackass obi-wan kenobi into the world's goodest saddest boy I should be allowed to say that anakin skywalker is just a sweet, silly guy who loves his wife a lot
"padmé in AotC: oh don't listen to anakin. he's a fuck ass idiot"
do you mean obi-wan in AotC? because he is the only one treating anakin like that in the movie.
anakin listened to padmé when the jedi council wouldn't. padmé listened to anakin when the jedi council wouldn't. it's almost like it's a theme of the movie: anidala heard each other.
okay a little women opinion i have is like. you don’t have to girlbossify amy or make her not annoying or make her right about things to make her a good character. her actions don’t need to be justified all the time. she doesn’t have to not be silly. the point of amy is that she IS a self absorbed child she IS obsessed by what people think of her for a lot of her life she DOES feel the need to fit into high society because she wants to have money!!!! that’s just how she is! and she overcomes a lot of the self absorption that she has throughout the story but you don’t have to be like well actually she’s like that for a justifiable reason to make people like her. let her have character development!!! let her be an annoying child!!! let her clash with her sisters because she is preoccupied with what people think of her!! it’s okay to make her a little bit shallow!!! especially because that changes!!!!! trust your audience to love a character who has flaws!!!
when people say they love amy but it's clear they're thinking of a very different one 💔💔

reblog this post if you believe anidala would have been good parents in a happier timeline
Something I don't understand is how people don't understand that the message the Original Trilogy wants to give is that the Jedi weren't perfect, and they had a lot of flaws. On top of that, it also gives an anti-Jedi (better said anti-Jedi Order) mentality.
Why?
The whole trilogy is about Obi-Wan or Yoda telling Luke to kill Darth Vader and trying to make him think that would save the galaxy. And you know what Luke does? He disobeys. He refuses to kill his father, and that ultimately is what saves the galaxy. Nor the Jedi Order nor the Jedi Code saved the galaxy. What saved the galaxy were the morals of a boy who refused to kill his father, whose love for him made him see the good within. Whose love for him made Luke want to save Anakin. And by saving Anakin from the Dark Side, instead of killing him, the Empire was defeated.
If Luke had done what Obi-Wan and Yoda told him to do, if he had followed their orders and believed in their "those who fall to the Darkside are too far gone" "you have to kill the Sith because you can't save them" "don't get attached" (because yes, Luke loved and was attached to his father) mentality, the galaxy would have been doomed.

It's been weeks of seeing people hate on Charles online now.
Personally I think so many F1 creators are proving they have a hive mind of opinions rather than individual thought because one person said it and suddenly every single F1 creator had the same opinions and were preaching how "Charles is overhyped" blah blah blah.
Now I've been one to call out that Charles has had opportunities to really fight, primarily in 2022. However, I acknowledge there was mechanical and team issues and decisions that cost him. BUT he also crashed at crucial moments and made mistakes and failed to really bring the fight to Max and be the victor 9 out of 10 times.
All that being said the videos I've seen after Austria are crazy takes.
Primarily by some Lewis fans, who have a bad rep for a reason.
I'm almost 100% sure I've already discussed this but I'll do it again because I think this is tragic.
Some Lewis fans are saying Charles isn't a team player and has never been a team player. BUT apparently Lewis and Carlos ARE and always have been.
I actually agree that Charles is a fairly selfish driver. He drives because he wants to win himself. He wants to fight everyone for the win. He wants to beat Lewis and he wants to beat everyone else too. Whether he succeeds or not is another issue.
However, I truly think that it's delusional to try and say Charles isn't a team player but Lewis, AKA LEWIS HAMILTON THE DRIVER WITH THE SPORTS MOST FAMOUS INTERTEAM BATTLE THAT LITERALLY COST HIM A CHILDHOOD FRIEND BECAUSE NEITHER OF THEM WOULD PLAY THE TEAM GAME BECAUSE THEY WANTED TO WIN, is a team player. He acted nicely toward Bottas and people think that he was always like that. He wasn't even like that towards George.
Also we have endless examples of so many drivers no being team players. Max refusing to give back a position to Checo after a position swap. Carlos was constantly fighting Charles to the point of the two nearly crashing each other out. Oscar got a penalty and wanted the team to force Lando to give him a position bc he EARNED himself a penalty when they were mid championship fight. Gabi even talked about how Hulk refused to share data with him when they first became teammates and he had to point out how ridiculous that was as backmarkers. Pierre and Ocon, my god they literally had to drop one of the drivers in order to try and get a driver lineup that would work as a team. This is just recent examples and not even all of the things I could pull up from the past couple years.
I'm gonna tell you right now if these drivers were given the option to have 22 different teams and no have any teammate they would all fucking jump for it. A whole team dedicated solely to them as an individual driver where they don't have to ever consider a teammate? Every single one of them would probably jump for it.
To be clear I don't hold anything against Lewis when it comes to this discussion. He does not play the team game ever either, but because some Lewis fans are under the false impression that every teammate he has is only there to help him win (Mercedes did that damage by deluding some of his fans into thinking that's normal), they call any driver who is his teammate that doesn't drive for Lewis only a bad teammate and not a team player.
What I have to laugh at is that Charles is so brainwashed by Ferrari and being a team player that he practically has a Stroll contract with Ferrari that is never ending. Every year we hear about a multi year extension to his contract which literally how can every year he be coming out saying he's got a multi year extension? Makes no sense to me.
These same fans would be (and have been) pissed if Lewis was asked to play the team game and let Charles past. Lewis has been and would be pissed when he's asked to let a teammate past and he's fought back on letting a teammate pass.

it never gets any less frustrating for me to see die hard Dean stans act like Sam is a selfish monster for "abandoning" Dean when he went to Stanford or when he ran away the first time. Sam didn't have the same connection to Mary that Dean and John did, he never knew her when he was old enough to remember her. It's understandable that he wouldn't feel the same drive to avenge her, and it's understandable that he doesn't feel like he deserved to be abused and manipulated for struggling to set his heart on a mission for someone he didn't know. Dean watched his mom die, he knew exactly what happened to her, so he understood John's issues in a way that Sam never could. Logically, Sam knows this, but you can't force yourself to experience feelings you don't have. Sam didn't abandon Dean those times he left, he escaped John. Sam basically outright says this in Dark Side of the Moon, he explains that family doesn't mean the same thing to him as it does to Dean because all he's ever known was John's worst moments. He never had the small comforts and happy family that Dean holds onto. And yet this is the scene I most often see referenced when Sam is being called selfish and a traitor. It's reasonable why Dean would feel like Sam betrayed him, but the truth is that he didn't, and I wish certain fans were able to look at both perspectives with more nuance.
That's the point of the episode.
DSOTM is a targeted campaign to break the keystones of Dean's resistance-- his faith in himself, his faith in Sam, and his faith in their bond of brotherhood. What for Sam was a perfectly normal and healthy striving for independence -- especially factoring in John's abuse and neglect -- becomes a parade of willful and malicious abandonment. Sam wasn't going away to college because he was eighteen and that's what eighteen year olds do, says the angels-- he left because he couldn't stand being part of Dean's life. We the audience know that's not true, but Mr. I'm Not Worth Anything In And Of Myself doesn't know that, and there's no one around (not even Sam himself) who can explain that in a way he'll understand. Dean's convictions of his own worthlessness are baked into who he is and how he understands reality.
Speaking as a Dean person, it's not this episode that makes me angry at Sam on Dean's behalf. It's the next one. The one where Dean is clearly in crisis and Sam doesn't see it until it's almost too late. Think about it-- if Dean hadn't paused long enough put his affairs in order, he would've been Michaelwear before Zacharaiah could've pulled that stunt with Adam.
