I was convinced for a second that Pikmin Bloom had church themed Pikmin, realized that would be ridiculous, imagined a Pikmin on a cross and lost my mind laughing. So I had to draw it.

why does this have 32k notes? it’s just a picture of a knife in a ranch bottle, is there some unspoken joke that 32 thousand people share? what is going on here, i dont get it. it’s just a fucking picture of a knife in a ranch bottle. is there some spiritual connection people have to this picture? is there some ominous and mystical reasoning that this has 32 thousand notes? do people reblog this because it makes them look like some indie blogger? or is there just something funny to this? someone please explain
no one tell him
This is it, lads. The post that started us on this path 9 years ago.
I sure hope no one told him.

i really wonder what Julius Caesar would think of a bunch of neurodivergent rats huddled in a circle chanting ides of march ides of march ides of march and then cheering loudly on the 2067th anniversary of his assassination?
like would he cry?

Are you blooming?
Your hometown has “culture,” but does it have a 13 foot, bright orange, bug-eyed t-rex with weirdly human teeth
We are not the same
Oh yeah? Well my hometown has this fine late Victorian lad.
An allegedly real not at all shitty fake frog taxidermy that tourists pay real money to look at.
We have BLUCIFER. Killed his creator.
My hometown has this massive Paul Bunyan statue on top of a Cafe.
I see your Paul Bunyan and raise you The Big Chicken.
I see your large poultry and raise you Communist Cookie Monster mural.
This guy was at the center of a citywide mystery that tore neighborhoods apart in bitter rivalries and led dozens of people to write an anonymous con artist on the mayoral ballot.
You’re right. My home town had none I’d these. Just a funky lookin clock.
We have a drunken pink elephant with glasses.
And The Lauterbach Man (he used to hold a tire but it was replaced after 9/11. he also lost his head during a huge tornado about 10-ish years ago)
A large metallic Buck made of bumpers from cars that were totaled when they hit a big normal Buck.
Creepy Abe Lincoln at the State Fairgrounds
And the Corndog Couple.
Oh! And the auto parts store that has metal men ready to defend their property. Pretty sure they come alive at night.
We’ve got this fuckin thing. Everyone knows about Nessie, but Kingsley is the hero we deserve.
(Disclaimer: near me, not same town sadly)
We got fiberglass bison in random locations. This one is outside my favorite bookstore. Her name is Pearl.
Big blue bug!!!!!
They dress him up for the holidays
But my personal fav is this guy. Covid conscious big blue bug!!!!
not a permanent thing but I was reminded of my hometown’s annual Festive Lobster Traps for christmas. there are lights on there.
tommy the 4.5 ton crab represent
Mr. Trash Wheel is both cute and collects trash from the Baltimore Harbor
NOVELTY ARCHITECTURE MY BELOVED
We have the bean bunny!
Shocked that Lucy the Elephant hasn’t been mentioned yet:
And yes, you can climb inside her on a tour! It’s actually quite beautiful in there :)
the town where I grew up had a random dinosaur statue (from an old Sinclair gas station) on the lawn of a house at a major intersection
this is the best photo I can find- with the now-deceased original owners -but I cannot emphasize enough that it looked like a random unremarkable house, on a busy road, with a big green dinosaur outside. people used this dinosaur to give directions, pre-GPS
the family still has him, but they sold the house, so now he lives elsewhere in the area
Place down the road from me has the world’s largest sausage
It’s a kielbasa, if you need to know.
We have the skipping girl, or “Little Audrey”
WHAT THE FUCK Little Audrey IS going to come to life and lay waste to your ENTIRE CITY.
okay is anybody going to explain why the route 1 dinosaur has a donut photoshopped onto its hand because that is not a feature of the actual dino
It’s not photoshop, it was a temporary donut when the new Kane’s opened up next door
The most exciting part of a trip was going past the concrete cows of Milton Keynes.

Twitter thread by Melissa Caruso about a labyrinthine magical bookstore in Syracuse, NY. Link to the first tweet in the thread; most pictures have image descriptions! Now here are the screenshots of that thread:
And then a hero of the labyrinthine magical bookstores of the world put all the bookstores that people listed in the replies on a map! (Google Maps link)
This place has the vibe of: I'm checking an empty suitcase on the flight I've booked to NY and I am coming home with nothing but books. If I don't make it back just tell them that I disappeared doing what I loved -- staring at thousands of books in awe, walking the labyrinth of knowledge with at least a stack of six books in my arms (why yes my wrists arent happy but shhh, books), and wondering if the owner would let me live there.
