considering the protests are tomorrow , here is some advice from your favorite punk

- do not communicate with others about the protests on any insecure messaging platform such as discord or imessage. god forbid don’t tell people on tumblr if you’re going

- this is not the time to dress cool. dress in plain blacks and casuals, mask up (covid is not over and makes you harder to identify), and cover any identifying features you may have (tattoos, dyed hair, piercings, birthmarks, etc). don’t use a bandana, this is easy to identify. don’t wear any clothing or accessories you wear often. hoodies are preferred

- leave your phone at home entirely

- make sure you have people who know where you are

- memorize your lawyers numbers and anyone who can bail you out

- don’t tell cops jackshit, absolutely fucking nothing

- do not use water on tear gas, it is designed to cause it to burn you more upon contact with water

- stay in the crowd

- don’t interact with cops unless you have to

- stay safe

- clean up tear gas from eyes with milk

- do not bring friends or anyone immediately associated with you

- there ARE going to be cops and they WILL immediately react with violence the moment they can

- bring disinfectant and bandages

- cannot emphasize enough dont tell cops shit. invoke your fifth amendment and shut up

- if youre bad at memorizing numbers, write it on your person in permanent marker, preferably in a spot covered up by say a sleeve

- if your outfit has patches or embroidery, remove it

- get ready to potentially be put into custody for a few days

- do not post or text anyone on insecure messaging platforms about if you attended the protests
