do me a favor and reblog this and put in the tags what time it is for you and what you're currently doing/thinking about
anyways guys congratulations on being aromantic. it's pride month everyone congratulate aromantic people <3
My bathtub is full of wet sticks and my backyard is full of rain.
Last year I just made wreaths with these invasive-ass Mulberry plants, but this year I'm making very short wattle fences to use as edging for my wildflower garden oh God I sound like a hippie
So I ended up reusing the straight plastic stakes from a netting kit as stakes for the wattle edging because I didn't want the mulberry branches to root. All measurements were eyeballed and though I tried my best to balance everything, I'm very proud of the natural and rustic outcome.
I need more weaving supplies, I need to do 20 more feet of this.
saw a poll about dry/humid heat and like OBVIOUSLY everyone preferred dry heat but. would love to know what everyone considers to be “too hot”
what’s the highest temperature that you would ideally like to experience
below 30°F/-1°C (wild. but i can understand you)
30-40°F/-1°- 4°C
40-50°F/4-10°C
50-60°F/10-15°C
60-70°F/15-21°C
70-80°F/21-26°C
80-90°F/26-32°C (okay chill out bud)
90-100°F/32-37°C (jesus)
above 100°F/above 37°C (you’re insane)
me personally it’s a hard cutoff at 75°F. don’t need anything more than that thank you 🫶🫶🫶

Weirdly anti-millennial articles have scraped the bottom of the barrel so hard that they are now two feet down into the topsoil
its so wild like “this generation with no fucking money is learning to prioritize essentials” and all these chucklefucks can write is advertisements for these companies
at least our jeans won’t tear at the seams after two washes
FUCK FABRIC SOFTENER IT’S UTTERLY POINTLESS
AND FUCK DRYER SHEETS LITERALLY NOBODY EVER HAS ENOUGH OF A PROBLEM WITH STATIC TO WARRANT PAYING OUT THE ASS FOR THAT SHIT
DO YOU WANT CLEAN CLOTHES? YOU DON’T EVEN NEED TO BUY FUCKING DETERGENT JUST MAKE YOUR OWN* IT’S SO GODDAMN EASY AND 80X CHEAPER
FUCK THE ENTIRE LAUNDRY INDUSTRY *Fuck The Entire Laundry Industry Recipe
1 cup Washing Soda (not Baking Soda. Different things.)
1 cup Borax (not Boric Acid. Also a different thing.)
½ cup - 1 cup grated bar soap (you can use literally anything. I often use Ivory because it’s easy to get and I find it works well, a lot of people like Fels-Naptha, which is an actual laundry bar. Some people use Dr. Bronner’s. Really does not fucking matter.) After grating your soap, combine all ingredients. That’s it. That’s the whole thing. Use maybe a ¼ cup per load.
^^^ I’ve done this for years now and it works as well as any store bought detergent
WHAT Thank you, tumblr user awfullydull! Your URL does no justice to the good advice you give!
Also you can MAKE your own washing soda very VERY cheaply.
Step one: acquire $5 bag of baking soda from Costco.
Step two: lay that motherfucking baking soda out on a baking tray.
Step three: bake the baking soda on a tray in an oven at 400° for 1 hour (to make the moisture evaporate, leaving washing soda)
Step four: revel in how easy and cheap it is to make your own washing soda, and maybe take a moment to be angry that the industry upcharges the fuck out of something that is so easy to make.
I see some of y'all complaining about static and/or wanting nice smelling laundry. Go to a craft store, find 100% wool yarn balls. If it doesn’t come in a ball, ask an employee to make it into a tight ball for you. Wash in the washing machine to make it felted. Remove from washer, add a few drops of essential oil to the ball, allow to seep in. Dry with clothing. Doesn’t need to be rewashed ever, and if it stops smelling, add few more drops of essential oil. Bam, reusable dryer sheets.
I love this post so much it’s filled with helpful advice, hatred, saving money, and fucking the system all in one

DIY Sweater upcycling Part 1 (complete)
okay so I realised that with reblogging my own post and adding the new steps it does not show up in the tags again and people keep reblogging only the first post.
So here are all the photos and steps I made so far:
Step1 : The sweater as it was before - to small, not worn for several years, still soft and warm. Hand knitted by my mum so I would never think about throwing it way.
Step 2: Find the last sewn in piece and unravelimg the collar.
all gone! I turned the sweater inside out so it's easier to find the sewn in ends.
Step 3: Find and take out the threads used to sew the different pieces together (the most annoying and time consuming part).
Step 4: Finally unravel each part on their own and roll into balls for future use.
I like to start a new ball each time a thread ends. This way I can choose whatever lenght of yarn I need for a project and not take a big ball and end up with like ten pieces I have to join in again and again...
That is how far I have come until now. I'll try to finish some other WIP and then quickly start knitting the cat socks before my motivation leaves me again.
Thanks for reading!
DIY Upcycling Project:
Unravelling an old childhood sweater to make socks
Step 1: An old knitted sweater made by my mum however many years ago.
I want to completely unravel it and later use the yarn to make warm, cuddly kitty socks.
I'll try my hardest to keep updating this post and take you along for the ride
Step 2: I started unravelling at the collar. That was easy and fast.
Currently struggling to find the sewn in ends and taking the different pieces apart
All taken apart!
All frogged and rolled up! My Mum requested a pair of socks for herself because I undid all her hard work
Now I just need to get an other WIP off the needels so I can start
