Guy spotted them from across the room, checking in with them like he always does.

That’s when he saw their tight lips and strained expression.

“Sorry.” He said a quick apology to his group of friends and weaved through the crowd to find Honey.

Honey’s eyes widened when they saw him, like they can’t believe he’s there.

Guy reached over and grabbed their hand, leading them away wordlessly. Honey was relieved - they hated pretending to be someone else, and those friends always made them feel like they need to put on a mask.

He didn’t stop until they were outside the friend’s house, standing near a tree, away from any prying eyes.

Honey hugged him, burying their face in his chest, hands gripping his shirt at the back. They took a few deep breaths to calm themselves, all while Guy stroked their back in soothing motions, chin resting on the top of their head.

“You’re okay.” He whispered. “You’re okay.”

After a moment, Honey raised their head. Guy smiled, cupping their cheek. They looked so cute, as always.

Bashfully, Honey leaned to whisper in his ear.

“Thank you for saving me.”

Guy grinned, face lighting up. He leaned closer to rest his forehead against theirs.

“I’ll always come and save you.” He gave them a chaste kiss on the lips, noting with relief that they were smiling.

“Wanna go home?”

“Oh-No, we don’t have to. I know you haven’t seen your friends in a while.”

“Honey.” He booped them on the nose. “They’ll be fine without me. Besides, you’re more important. I’d rather you have a good time.”

“But what about you?”

“I have a good time if you have a good time.” He grinned.

Honey rolled their eyes, but intertwined their fingers with his, grateful for his presence.

Guy kissed the back of their hand. “Let’s go home.”

He knew Honey would feel bad if they were the one to suggest it. But there was no mistaking that little squeeze of their hand.

“I’m s-“

Guy kissed them before they could get the words out.

“Let’s go.”

His hands on their waist help them focus on the present, stopping their mind from drifting off into the what-ifs and focus on what’s in front of them. The warmth of his palm on their skin, fingers slipping under the hem of their shirt, makes them melt into his touch. Lincoln is more than happy to catch them.

When Dreamer is anxious, Lincoln notices. He always does. His comfort is silent, but envelopes them in a blanket of safety. He feels the knots in them tightening, and silently reaches over to interlace his fingers in theirs, smiling when Dreamer noticeably relaxes under his touch. The simple action communicates a million words - I’m here. You’re okay. I’ve got you.
