Wesker Wednesday
My love for Wesker is totally reasonable and normal, I swear.
A/B/O
I'm I the only one who always thinks of blood types first, rather than the Omegaverse? Probably been thinking about vampires too much.
I'm lost for words
I think I'm getting a migraine now.

“Hey, I don’t think I’ve met you before.” Leon held out his hand towards Zeno with a smile. “I’m Leon. You new to the Fog?”
@spirited-rookie
Zeno's attention whipped in the direction of the voice, seeing what he thought was the cutest twink he'd seen in ages. Maybe the Entity was giving him a boytoy after all.
He extended his hand politely, shaking in kind.
"I have a few Trials under my belt now, but I am still new, yes."
He put on his most charming smile.
"You may call me Zeno."
“Yeah. I’m still a bit new myself. Not how I expected my first day on the job going,” Leon chuckled. He still had a small amount of blood splatter from who knows when on his uniform.
“Zeno. Is that a nickname? It sounds cool. I don’t really have a nickname. The name Leon Scott Kennedy doesn’t seem to lend well to nicknames that I like.”
"Ah, I'm sure. I heard from Claire that you had a very upsetting first day."
He is acting personable, acting like he's a good person to be around. There's a smugness radiating from him, and his eyes are hidden by his shades. Probably for the best.
"Yes, it is technically a nickname."
He lit a cigarette.
"No, I suppose your name doesn't lend itself well to a nickname. 'Leon' is a fine name enough though."
“You’ve met Claire? She’s cool, right?”
Leon radiated innocence and good natured well being like a puppy trying to drag a slipper too big for it over to someone.
“Well I like your nickname, Zeno. Very unique.”
Well I can't NOT fuck him now.
"You're... very correct. Claire has been wonderful to talk to when we are at the same campfire."
He didn't actually know how to handle this endless innocence and joy. If he were in one of his frequented clubs, he'd be ordering drinks and putting his charm on to the max. This was not that.
"Are you, ah, single?"
Leon stopped for a moment to blink. Was- was this guy hitting on him?
A faint blush briefly appeared on his cheeks. He tried not to look away, and failed. He looked back through his bangs and lashes shyly.
“Uh. No. I recently got dumped by my girlfriend.”
Damn. Damnit. Damnit.
Well now he had to do this delicately.
"Ah, my apologies. I should not have been so... forwards."
That said, he does brush Leon's bangs out of his face as he speaks. His touch is gentle, his words respectful.
He had to hide his disappointment.
“Wait. I heard that wrong. I am single but I just-“ He looked down awkwardly.
“She issued an ultimatum not to go to Raccoon City and I went to Raccoon City. Probably a good thing. If she gave me a choice between her and helping others.”
Well that made things easier.
"Well, I certainly would prefer a man who opted to help others..."
He was not subtle, sliding his hand down Leon's cheek to his shoulder.
Leon’s small blush burned brighter as Zeno was obviously flirting with him. He hadn’t had to deal with that before even if he secretly liked guys and-
“Uhhh. I’ve never- uh…”
Great job, Leon! Way to get your thoughts across! Aka none of them. He was so screwed.
"Never been with a man?"
Zeno took a very, very confident step forwards, sliding his hand down to hook around Leon's waist.
"Oh you sweet, beautiful young man, I have such delights to share with you."
Careful, Zeno. RE2 Leon is the sweetest little cinnamon roll in the world. You WILL catch feels.

chrisker long-fic recs
I've recently read some amazing long form chrisker fanfic and wanted to yell about it online. Please feel free to add recommendations of your own, and of course leave kudos and comments for all the amazing authors : )
Since we're dealing with chrisker, please heed the archive ratings and content warnings! Some of these can get dark/explicit.
A God Needs Worship by OneShotRevolt (271,621 words) Canon compliant. Slow-burn S.T.A.R.S. era chrisker, primarily from Wesker's perspective. This is a wonderful character study, with a wide cast and intricate care taken to weave the chrisker romance into canon.
Imprisonment by DysfunctionalSerenity (241,923 words) Post Lost in Nightmares AU. Wesker turns himself into the BSAA and his only condition for his continued cooperation is some quality time with Chris. Unusually for fanfic, written in 1st person from Chris' pov, but it really works for this highly entertaining locked room fic.
Shot Down in Flames by Sepulchres_Light (176,073 words) Pre Re5 AU. Wesker and Chris come to an agreement trading Chris' complete compliance for the protection of his loved ones. This fic digs into the darker aspects of chrisker, which makes the ultimate payoff even sweeter.
The Jungle Without Legs by crystalized biceps (53,201 words) S.T.A.R.S. AU. This story lives in my head rent free and the less said about it before you read, the better. It's dark and dreamy and utterly beautiful.
Where The Wound Drips Venom From Your Soul by Killorian (145,334 words) Pre Re5 AU. Wesker is a vampire, Chris is a werewolf; hilarity ensues. If you ever wanted that modern fantasy, found family RE AU, this is the fic for you.
Endless Numbered Days by FatalFanfiction (94,731 words) S.T.A.R.S. AU. One of the chrisker classics. Chris wakes up with 15 years of memory of the future during his STARS days, complicating an already complicated dynamic with his enigmatic captain.
Prometheus by marbleowl (63,208 words) Post Shadows of Rose. Chris and Sherry investigate a BOW lab and stumble upon the shadow of an old friend. A bittersweet tale of forgiveness and redemption.
Sins of the Flesh by Bloodfield (61,657 words) RE5 AU. It took me a while to settle on just one recommendation from this author, but I settled on this gorgeous, Frankenstein inspired, gothic romance. Wesker achieved everything he wanted - it will take a lot more to get what he needs.
A Heart Left Behind by adaari (34,603 words) Post CV AU. Chris and Wesker find a way to stop and start being Chris and Wesker. This is a very sweet take on the classic premise that things would have been so much better for the world if Chris and Wesker just kissed instead.
The Wolf, the Witch and the Bat Series by PaperJu (4 parts) Post Shadows of Rose. Wesker inserts himself into Chris and Rose's functional dysfunctional life of fighting bioterror. Funny and poignant story about finding your happy ending after the ending. One of my personal all time favorite chrisker fics.
Disorientation Series by winterwhite (3 parts) DbD crossover and RE AU. Chris and Wesker take being sent to some strange alternative dimension to work on their mess of a relationship. Despite the unusual premise, has wonderful characterization, world building and plot running throughout.
"Enjoying the view?" 😎
Going to need much more than a view.

🚨BREAKING: OpenAI published a paper proving that ChatGPT will always make things up.
Not sometimes. Not until the next update. Always. They proved it with math.
Even with perfect training data and unlimited computing power, AI models will still confidently tell you things that are completely false. This isn't a bug they're working on. It's baked into how these systems work at a fundamental level.
And their own numbers are brutal. OpenAI's o1 reasoning model hallucinates 16% of the time. Their newer o3 model? 33%. Their newest o4-mini? 48%. Nearly half of what their most recent model tells you could be fabricated. The "smarter" models are actually getting worse at telling the truth.
Here's why it can't be fixed. Language models work by predicting the next word based on probability. When they hit something uncertain, they don't pause. They don't flag it. They guess. And they guess with complete confidence, because that's exactly what they were trained to do.
The researchers looked at the 10 biggest AI benchmarks used to measure how good these models are. 9 out of 10 give the same score for saying "I don't know" as for giving a completely wrong answer: zero points. The entire testing system literally punishes honesty and rewards guessing.
So the AI learned the optimal strategy: always guess. Never admit uncertainty. Sound confident even when you're making it up.
OpenAI's proposed fix? Have ChatGPT say "I don't know" when it's unsure. Their own math shows this would mean roughly 30% of your questions get no answer. Imagine asking ChatGPT something three times out of ten and getting "I'm not confident enough to respond." Users would leave overnight. So the fix exists, but it would kill the product.
This isn't just OpenAI's problem. DeepMind and Tsinghua University independently reached the same conclusion. Three of the world's top AI labs, working separately, all agree: this is permanent.
Every time ChatGPT gives you an answer, ask yourself: is this real, or is it just a confident guess?
A couple years ago I was testing out an earlier version of ChatGPT to see what it was capable of and what it knew. It started giving me really weird and untrue information for some specialist subjects and so I just point blank asked it:
Can you tell if the information you're saying is true?
And the response I got, worded a little differently each time I asked it because I asked the question several times to be sure the answer was consistent, was that ChatGPT had no way of knowing if the data it was fed was factual or fictional. This was the reason the results I was getting were so weird. ChatGPT had "read" textbooks and it had "read" wikipedia but it had also "read" fanfiction and "read" fiction novels, and from what I could tell at the time and what it was telling ME at the time, ChatGPT could not tell fact from fiction. It could just imitate what you asked it to imitate. It could mimic and parrot language patterns, but it could never KNOW anything.
And like, I learned that from just outright asking the product if it knew what was true and what was false, so I feel like OpenAI owed us this paper a long time ago.
Back in the 90's when dinosaurs roamed the earth and I was making my first faltering steps onto the internet, I learned a useful proverb. "The internet is like a bathroom. You can get a drink there, but you'd better be sure of whether you're drinking from the sink or the toilet."
LLM's cannot tell the bloody difference. It's just that simple.
